Florida has a tradition of letting people know what's going on. The police are quick and forthright with information. Many states and municipalities like to keep things quiet. I come from Long Island New York and was amazed at what was going on that the public didn't hear about or was barley reported on. My kids high-school told me they never have any problems. The police I knew laughed and said they were there almost every day.
