That's not what Vance is "blaming him" for though. What you're doing is called a straw man. Often misused as a term, you're displaying it perfectly though. Vance has been attacking Walz on his claim that he "carried weapons of war into war." That's a quote from Walz. Vance has been saying, verifiably, that Walz never went into a combat zone. So that's a stolen valor claim. It's also pretty cut & dry, despite some people trying to redefine what "going to war" means. He's also attacked Walz on "abandoning his unit" just prior to deployment to an actual combat zone. This one is trickier. As it includes paperwork submitted months prior but also claims that the deployment order was known about months prior (which as a Veteran I can tell you it often is). So this is still a tangle of accusations & counter accusations. Others have also pointed out that Walz was claiming a rank he never actually achieved. Also easily verified. I don't think Walz has jumped on that line of attack yet. But he may have, I don't see why he wouldn't. But again, at no point has Walz attacked what you're saying he did. You've disingenuously shifted his arguments to a new and weaker argument so you can attack something besides what he actually said. Aka, Straw man fallacy.
