Institution are the norms , rules , convention practices that shape individual behaviour. Institution is understanding politics from institutional perspectives . Institutionalism is important approach to comparative politics since beginingi like Aristotle comparison of 150 states etc . Old instituonal tradition focused on the hard and are normative descriptive but new institutionalise focused on both hard and soft etc . 3 strands of new institutionalise rational choice , cultural and structural institutionalism etc .

Institutionalism has been major subject matter and approch to comparative politics . Plato ideal state , Aristotle study of the q50 state , montesquie . Old institutionalise traditional based hard institution on the other hand new institution based on soft and hard also micro human behaviour and the societical macro etc .. different countries , rehion and culture comparison .

3 types of new institutionalise .. Rational choice new institutionalism.. it is based on the cost benifit that individual choose that institution which is cost benifit as well as best alternative from that . Culture new institution .. it is based on the cultural belief , norms , value , convention and practices . Institution behaves according to the social behaviour Structure new institutionalism .. Institution are based on the what types of demography technology , nodes of production there .

Institution means formal or informal rules , codes , practices that shapes individual behaviour and structure the relationship between individual . A rule that is institutionalised established law and practices . Hard and soft .. Hard formal rules , judiciary, parliamentary , federalism zparty system and parliament . Soft informal code marriage , dress informal social sanction family , accepted norms pf political behaviour .
