Really love Poly 2 and I keep trying to learn more more about it, but I just don’t have the wavelength. A few days ago I was fooling around with it once again and I’ve decided that I’m really gonna try to stick with the learning curve because I think this device is really cool, really useful, and very musical! Above and beyond all of those good things it’s fun! Remember fun? Phone was that cookie little three letter word that seems to have gone missing from our world and our vocabularies. So I’ll start off by asking: 1.) is there a Poly 1? 2.) did you invent this application? 3.) other than KZbin, is there an online community for this app, and if not, would you like to start one with my help? And finally, do you have the time to come back to these Poly 2 videos and answer questions? OK, that’s it for now and thanks for your time and efforts!

Hi, I do not recall a Poly 1 version made public. Poly 2 is written by James Milton. I do not recall an online community for the app, happy for you to generate interest via this channel and see if there is any interest before launching into anything new. Always happy to respond to questions and support on any apps; regarding new videos, it depends on the need. Leo

when i press the stop button in the upper right corner, all sound stops immediately. is there a way to stop it with all the delay effects going a bit on? i am giving a concert this afternoon.. apprecheate help :D

Nope, but a workaround is to load it inside AUm and add an reverb fx straight after so that when you stop the tail of the reverb will make it smoother…

Is it possible to change the note length of each concentric circle of the grid, or do they stay the same relative to each other and relative to the distance from the center? Hope that's not confusing. And, BTW, I really appreciate how methodical and complete, with examples of the functions, your overview tutorials are.

notes length are changed using the rules/length function on the right. is this what you mean?

That seems to control "gating", cutting off the note but not changing it's original length (1/8, 1/16, etc)@@soundformore

ok, I see what you mean. I do not recall seeing an option to set notes to 1/8, 1/16 etc. as in a normal sequencer...

@@soundformoreRight. No 1/8 notes. I think each ring has a different time signature and tempo. The global tempo seems to apply to the outermost ring, with each ring going toward the center getting a proportional increase in tempo. When I put one node on the innermost ring I get the same sound pattern as 16 evenly-spaced nodes on the outermost ring. If I put more than one node on the innermost ring, they seem to be sounding together, but I think they are actually sounding separately with the time difference too small to detect. In other words, I think the time signature for the outer ring is 16/16 and for the innermost ring is 256/256, which makes the tempo for the innermost ring 16 x the global tempo. Am I going insane, or is this correct?

if you want to work at this level of precision in Poly2 enable the visibility on the circle, go to settings/performance and enable the quantise note length. Quantize will divide notes length in 8th. At this point with a metronome on, like in AUM you will be able to put notes at tempo synch. :)
