I've been using this for almost 4 years now with 3x replacement from work coz that foam cloth on the ears wears off. We always hear a background noise even when it says noise cancellation. Your video is so much better than what it really is in reality. This is not just me but everyone at work using the same headset. If my dogs are barking, the other person on the call can really hear it. My coworker's baby's crying is also loud even with this. KRISP helped anyway. Also you can use the Jack if you want this used on your phone or the usb if via computer.

I would like to know if the sound quality drops when the microphone is on. I use speech recognition and listen to music at the same time, and some headsets sound quality drops a lot when you turn on the microphone, like the poly voyager focus 2.

Do any of your videos discuss the issue of face sweat / fat touching the speaker foam? I bought the first one back in 2020, and now a brand new one. The foam from the older one has deteriorated to the point that it is brilliant. With the new one, I am cleaning it every two hours with a clean cloth to remove the fat. Interestingly enough, the material of the Logi Zone 750 does not get impacted so clearly as the Poly one.

Which one is better voyager 5200 or the black wire 5220? 2. How well does it operate when used directly via mobile (I mean without the 'technology' embedded in the buttoned contraption), in terms of noise cancellation and voice clarity?

Both will probably be similar in regards to noise cancellation, but the 5220 since the mic sits closer to your mouth will give a bit better microphone sound quality. Also, the 5220 connected to the computer will give better noise cancellation vs connecting directly to the mobile phone as well.

It is not cancelling the background noise, do I need to install an app to be able to reduce the noise?

There's no way to turn this feature on or off, the noise cancellation is built in. Results vary depending which amount of noise you're around, how loud the noise is and where the noise is coming from. All noise canceling microphones aren't treated equal, and this model is okay but not the best you can get. Headphones are good but it feels irritating when you mute them on or off. Every time it auto says mute on or off sound it kind of irratating every time.

If you download Poly Lense or Plantronics Hub, for some models they allow you to customize this notification to be a voice or a beep tone. Try downloading one of those apps on your computer to see if it offers that adjustment for this model.

why these two cables have to be identical? 03:45 Cable from the controller to headset is just ordinary audio cable just to pass grequences up to 20-40 kHz when cable from the controller to computer is USB cabeld and if it is real USB3.2, it may have up to 24 wires inside twisted to pass higher frequences they can't be the same anyhow.
