I just subscribed probably 8 or 10 reasons why. First your a patient man. Not because of your trade as an equipment operator or business man. But because you keep your cool with all of these questions. Most of which are from people telling you what you should have done on this job instead of listening/ believing what you said in the video. Or reading the comments that you posted previously. My goodness there are a lot of armchair experts out here. I am sure a lot know what they are talking about but they should give you at least a little credit for having done this at least once before. LOL The second reason is somebody mentioned Andrew so perhaps you two are friends. And then third you did a great job, you work hard and you deserve some praise for the hard work. And BTW I never noticed that you started a single sentence with like? I could be wrong. “Was my grammar ok”. Your a saint.

In northern On. you are not allowed to bury the man holes, like you said you need to install risers so the cap is level with the ground. I thought that it would freeze but it generates enough heat to keep it from freezing. thanks for sharing.

Good job Jesse ,,,,,,,,,,,nice area Rhinebeck NY I had a chance to fly into the airfield there many years ago when I was a student pilot. I think Cole Palen was the owner back then and some of their pilots came to Sunbury Airport in Pa. and got their seaplane ratings from my friend and instructor at the time so we were then invited to Rhinebeck for one of their summer time airshow events. For anyone looking for a great place to take the kids they put on a show on weekends through the summer,,,,look them up and stop in.

@@jmuller86 No, I wasn't thinking about being a drone pilot, although as I noted before that your're an excellent videographer. Great video. Best happy client I've seeing, so happy to help! If possible use white color in the fonts when writing with green or brown background. Try to use white or black colors to write, in this case since the background is light but not as white background, I think white letters will be better legible because of the dark shadows this although light in background has. If it were lighter then I would recommend you to write in black. That's up to min. 9:19. Up to min. 9:32 I don't do excavations frequently but, when I do, as with most things I do, I pass the requirements. Lets say you have to dig 6', if I can, I dig 6.5', that way those #1, 2 or bigger stones wont bother me, then leveling would be easier on the gravel. What do you think? Can you go a little lower or are the inspectors extremely restrictive in NY so if you have to dig certain depth you have to be strictly on that measure?

So the holes in the tank wall allow "other fluids" to go to the outlet side. But does poop actually go to the other side as well? I thought solids were supposed to stay on the inlet side. Old concrete tanks had a higher elevation so only fluids went to the other side. I mean I saw videos of these tanks almost filled to the top with water on installation. So what keeps floating solid waste from just floating through those holes to the other side?

There's really nothing to it Lee. I did my first and only one last year. If your on flat ground with no slope all the easier. Just plan it all out first. I started with finding grade for my infiltrator line then set the tank accordingly. I used about six inches of sand under the tank and used native soil to backfill. Been working flawless for a year now. Just remember, it's only a trench used to absorb waste water. So long as your grade is good it will work. Good luck brother!

Jesse nice job, if I can give you a few tips that will save you a huge problem one day,, 1st, invest in an 18" plate compactor, you can buy one from a rental shop for a good price, you will most likely have to give it a little TLC such as a carb cleaning and rebuild, new rubber mounts, if it is not in your budget, rent one for jobs like this, sure your bucket packs the ground a bit, but were you lay your pipes, and the back fill you need to have 100% compaction, and the bucket know mater how much you tamp it, you will not get 100%, ad in time pipes will drop and the tank will move. most important, before back filling these plastic tanks, fill the tank at least 1.3rd full of water or more, then start back filling and compacting in 6" lift, keep letting the tank fill, one day you will get a heavy rain days if not weeks later and if the home owner didn't use the tank much, a heavy rain will pop them plastic tanks right out of the ground, it will not hurt the system with clean water in it, dump a few cans of yeast into the tank to get it working right out the gate. make sure it is compacted tight to the tank, and out to the walls of your hole... I learned the hard way, with 3 popped tanks in one week years ago, the tanks only had about 5" of water in them, and we got 4" of rain over nigh. the customers woke up to there tanks, sitting on top of the ground,, and what a muddy mess to do it all over again, I ended up digging all the mud out and haling it away, and trucking dry dirt back in, if the tank is not compacted really good, and water is in the tank and a heavy rain, the tank will move, and roll a little to a lot.. compact the tank bed really good before setting the tank, strange things happen, unlike concrete tank.. and your left scratching your head, and easy money just turned into the hardest money you ever made,, a little extra goes a long way,, Have a great digging day.. leave the tank fillin over night,,
@jmuller86
@jmuller86 5 жыл бұрын
I actually have a fairly new compactor, bought it brand new about 4 years ago, I usually do quite a bit of concrete work so it was a must. But for this job I just made sure I really tamped underneath the pipes the best I could, and the sides of the tank can afford a little settling as I will be back and can fill in the settling before final grade. Also, I have used tanks that needed to be filled with water before backfilling before, but for these ones there is no requirement, unless there is a high water table and your expecting rain right after. This one was put into service as soon as we were done with lots of water that night, plus the ground was very drainable so the water was going seep right through and keep going. But yes I know what your saying, and I probably should have explained these things for other people to learn. I have seen tanks pop out too, and I got to learn from that instead of it happening to me. You do always have some good advise, thanks for that.

@jmuller86

I personally always try to go with the poly. I want to set it at my leisure, not when the concrete tank company decides to show up with the tank and crane. if they show up 30 minutes too early or 30 minutes too late its always a hastle. Poly tanks used to be a PITA with bed requirements, side fill requirements, and needed to be filled with water as well; but these new ones are a quick and easy installation. plus concrete can erode where poly is basically forever.

I can’t believe how many installers don’t compact the dirt under the inlet and discharge lines. Lazy, cheap labor probably. 👍 good work 🇺🇸
@jmuller86

really the whole inlet run from the house to the tank should be compacted, but after the tank, its less crucial

yes, right inside of the outlet in the tank, with the manhole directly over for checking it

As a regulator: Tank manufacturer has a requirement to prohibit burying tank with rocks in the soil bedding below. This install was questionable, if the tank ever leaks blame it on the rocks. Installer made mention but could have used pea gravel or sand to bed and better screen the site soil to provide compact lifts for burial. Most tank failures are caused by rocks, and not burying in compact lifts. Good luck homeowner. You have evidence to pursue repairs at no cost.
@jmuller86
@jmuller86 4 жыл бұрын
I screened all the rocks out down to 1/2" , and I did bury in compacted lifts. but even if I didn't, it just creates a low spot in the area. We were going to do work there later that year so he was well aware of that, plus he is my friend

It will never rot away like a concrete tank can do. But for under a driveway it is not a great idea. The pipes can run under the driveway but the tank shouldnt

I see no one has answered your question, are you a license plumber? Are you up to date on codes? Have you ever installed a septic system before? Money comes with experience. I’m not a license plumber how ever I have worked with plumbers, and now do septic repairs for people, I do not mark up material. So with that being said I know I whould be at 4,000$ just to install that size tank, a license contractor whould probably whould be 6,000$ + for that installation. Hope that helps.

Its a nice machine. The 35d should be even better. I had alot of problems with mine because of neglect on the prior owners part, but I cant blame it on john deere. They have a wider stance then even most cats, so I like them

@@jmuller86 Thanks for responding I ended up picking up the 35D. I definitely like it so far. Has a lot of digging power for a 35. I like the cab tilt option makes it easier to work on. Are you running Hitachi hydraulic fluid in yours? I'm looking to do a service and I see Hitachi zinc free fluid is highly recommended.
