Thx for comprehensive review. In the end purchased one. Analog Rytm and PP enough for me.

It doesn’t do ROMpler stuff, but you CAN use custom samples. They just have to be processed through either wavetable or granular. I’m hoping to make a sample of my own voice and see how that goes.

All caught up. Been a mourning type week.. 😞 Not too shabby. Interesting sounds and midi control. Would add an extra dimension to my minimalistic setup that I don't really have. But my wishlist is already so big 😬 🤘🏻

Sorry to hear it man. Sending you all the love 🖤 It's a powerful instrument in terms of expression. The sounds from most of the engines are not for me, but I'm also spoiled.

No way that key modulation is out of style, it's just that these instruments are designed by engineers first instead of musicians. I remember being really disappointed by "chord mode" in many synths not changing the chords to be major and minor to keep it diatonic. Compared to that this is definitely progress. We'll get there one day.

Question: if I download the latest firmware update, will it force the third color to be green instead of purple? I know it seems like a silly concern, but I feel like purple helps me focus.

Such an interesting instrument! I came from a black&white keys background, where can I learn more about how the grid works? I see some pads are highlighted - aesthetically pleasing yet confusing to me.... Thanks.
@VultureCulture14 күн бұрын
That highlighted pads are always the octaves. They can change based on how many notes are in the scale.
@fabiobiolcati163214 күн бұрын
Brilliant. Must dig deeper into this grid thing. Last time I played live, used Ripchord on a traditional keyboard to cheat difficult chord changes over complex rhythm: luckily nobody cares about the keyboard player in the audience 😂

@@fabiobiolcati1632 the buttons go left to right, bottom to top, like looking down at guitar fretboard while playing. The scale modes skip out-of-scale notes ("frets"). Stuff to google: Linnstrument, isomorphic keyboards, (if u have an ipad, velocity keyboard and musix pro).

Polyend Synth will be secured after the 21st. (currently wrapping up a no gear buy challenge of 90 days) You sealed the deal. The ability to send midi out to three synths with all of the features (arp, chord) and polyphonic after touch. I have several synths, including the ASM desktop. I have nothing in the studio that can do this. At this price point and value add, it's a no brainer. The mention of LPP as an alternative. When you think about the work involved plus that is it, just a controller, it's not an apples to apples. Also, this talk about "oh, they will come out with a Synth +" So what. If they do, you do what Elecktron fan boys do. That is just hate talking. Sir, you are a scholar and a f'king bad a$$!
@VultureCulture18 күн бұрын
Love that you put a gear moratorium on yourself. I just bought a new synth 9 minutes ago 🤣 I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I think the sequencer / chord follow modes are worth it for that alone.
@mklschwrtz210 күн бұрын
Imagine if you could load some drum samples into the Synth. Chop the bass-section in half and use 8 pads to lay down some drums. I think that would make this a no-brainer for me.

If they release a drum machine I think they'll be the perfect pairing

Do the pads send poly aftertouch over midi or is it just internal? And can the knobs send out midi CC?

Knobs send out CC 100%. Polyend said the pads send out poly aftertouch but I haven't tested it yet.

If you can control 3 synth with it are you only able to control 8 voices of those 3 synths?

9:32 … ‘3 hardware synthesizers AND [all] 3 [internal] synth engines AT ONCE’ … ? So, it can be ‘sex-timbral’ 🤭 (i.e. six timbres at once) … ?! i.e. it sends each engine’s ‘MIDI’ both internally and externally, at the same time … ? That would be pretty (totally?) unique … ?! (then you have polyphonic aftertouch, too …!) Those timbres would be in the form of three ‘pairs’, but that’s still pretty awesome … If I’m hearing you right?! Edit: Seems you answered this in the affirmative at 1:03:10 … 😎👍🏼

Does it work with midi-capture (Ableton) for all midi of the three engines? Do you get like one big midi-rec with all voices at the same time or how will that work then? Does anybody know? Already hyped but recording audio AND midi at the same time into the daw is kinda my workflow so many thanks if anybody knows more here..

I watched review yesterday and I was thinking - that's like something to write down to a wishlist :) but now I'm puzzled. I was about to buy Oxi One as upgrade for a center piece MIDI sequencer. I know Oxi is very deep sequencer and a different beast but Polyend Synth looks like powerfull Synth Plus (pun intended XD ) a way to MIDI control other synths I've got. I need to think about it until the end of "black week" while Oxi is a little cheaper now.
@VultureCulture18 күн бұрын
I am by no means a sequencer man, so I hesitate to add anything to the discussion. The biggest question I'd ask is do you see yourself playing three instruments at once by latching some sequences etc. or if you're doing more traditional sequencing, id prolly go for the oxi.
