I'm completely new to Polyend Tracker and wavetable synthesis. This tutorial is immensely helpful to get the grip on it. Before deciding to go for the Tracker, I thought maybe I would instead get a synth, not knowing that actually I would get a very flexible synth inside this sequencer/tracker. Such a good choice

Thank you for your videos and all the work you put in these tutorials. Would it be possible to make a tutorial about squarepusher or wisp? It would be nice to learn something about these massive changes they have in their music. I am a huge fan of them, Aphex and BOC. Thank you! Stay safe and take care! Bye Spleenex

Hi! Thanks for another great informative video :) I have a suggestion, maybe you can make a video where you show all your gear, say what you like/dislike about it, what it fits for best etc. I would be extremely interested in a video like that!

Did you know that one of the Depeche Mode guys was in Yazoo? He wrote the Yazoo song "Only You".

Vince Clarke? Duh! The album this song is featured in is actually the first album without Vince Clarke, and is written entirely by Martin Gore.

Super useful video. Thanks. I'm interested to know where you got the PPG wave descriptions from, e.g. Clipper, Organ syn etc. Is there a source for these, or did you rename them yourself? Thanks.
@Digiphex2 жыл бұрын
From the VST version of the PPG Wave.

really sweet! does the tracker have individual track lengths? and can you use the pads for xox sequencing?
@Digiphex3 жыл бұрын
It doesn't but those ideas sound cool. Clock divide and multiply per track with 8 tracks going different speeds and lengths would be incredible to watch.

How did you find those PPG waves on that site...there was no search index, just 662 pages to click through! :o :D
@Digiphex3 жыл бұрын
At the bottom is a button "download all at once" and in that folder you see the PPG and the others.

I looked at a fair number of wavetables from that site you mentioned...and the segments don't cycle [loop] on many of them. do I have something set wrong or are the tables just not that good. infant the diagrams dont match what shows in the the tracker. its off, only slightly....but I would assume that adds some buzz, or the buzz I'm hearing. I wonder if the sample rate or bit depth need to be changed to fix this? what was the bit depth on the PPG? adding I looked it up....and PPG was 8bit and PPG2 was 12 bit. do you think that this may affect playback in the tracker. the taels downloaded from that site you provide are 16bit
@Digiphex3 жыл бұрын
I can only speak for the PPG ones which are perfect. You have to be using Wavetable playback method under the Sample Playback button. Then choose Window 256 at the bottom of the screen and the Position should be 0-63 which are the 64 oscillators.

@@Digiphex I did do that. thanks. must be something with the tracker. just made a cycle in WaveEditor...and played with the PPG tables in the WaveEditor. and they sound good. serious buzz introduced in the tracker. it works better cycling than in WT mode. [cycling the 256 samples]

Did anyone have any issues with their MicroSD cards? I bought a 120G one, used Acronis True Image utility to format it to FAT32, but I've noticed sometimes on Windows 10, it won't let me eject easily, and I have to start closing stuff. I might have to power off the machine to try and get it to eject gracefully (or maybe there is no way to stop it once the error occurs). What I've found is that if I pull out the MicroSD card without it ejecting first, it will break the whole partition and I'll have to do a reformat. I didn't realize how painful these MicroSD cards can be, but I'm also not sure if the one I have is defective or if this is just a Window-y issue. As a workaround, I've setup a batch file to rebuild the MicroSD card using xxcopy and also to start doing a complete backup whenever I plug it into the Windows system, in case it decides to happen again and it has to be rebuilt.

in the new firmware update there is a way to 'bypass the micoSD' - im not sure how but i heard a rumour :D
@shitmandood3 жыл бұрын
@@squishmusic I'm just glad I have a backup process, in case something happens. I haven't used a lot of microSD cards. It's interesting but never had the need. I once wondered if they would be better as a backup system but they don't have a long shelf-life and can just break after 4-5 years.
