@@LS-jj4sythose are also traded but there could just be like 15 blue but you only use 10 so instead of trading you take one of the extra and the other player just loses one, could make it harder though especially with varying numbers of players

the game looks complicated to an onlooker, but that's because you're not *thinking it* like the players are. spatial awareness and memory are engaged for them and so it's less confusing, and i think the stuff they can't remember is meant to make the challenge of rebuilding their mistakes funnier

It would probably work better digitally, where pieces could just change colors. However, that also would probably remove the whole 'accidentally knocking over pieces' thing, meaning they wouldnt change color in the first place...

I remember being at Gen Con and seeing a giant version of this game being played with the road sticks being three feet long. It stuck in my mind for over five years until I built a giant version for myself at home. Yard parties and BBQs are so much better when the games are giant! The only rule I'd say is wrong, at least according to how the rules say, is when you knock down someone's highway you don't give them each equivalent piece (so like pillars AND roads) , you only give them pillars equivalent to what was knocked down, no roads.
