brianna beck Honestly, it was a pro-gamer move. Also a very good bet. Everyone was getting low on cards, and you can’t be stuck with a skull if you want to put down two cards but get down to two cards left, so (like Brennan) it’s possible some or all with 2 cards had all roses. And if you do have skull, if the first card you put down is a skull, you can’t bet, unless you’re hoping someone bets higher and gets your skull. But again, that means you can’t try for a win. Brian had a pretty good shot at everyone’s single card being a rose and he had 3 cards left so if he lost the round he’d still have two cards. But if he won he would win the whole game.

When I would play Anomia at a friend's house, one of our rules (which I assumed was official but maybe he just made it up as a challenge) was that no one could repeat any of the examples given in losing rounds or in conversation, i.e. after the first time "Lois Lane" was mentioned, no one could use it from then on. Makes the game significantly harder IMO.
