Thanks! This just helped me figure out the angles needed to cut out some tetrahedron shaped wooden dice for a homemade Royal Game of UR set. Deeply appreciated as I had mistakenly thought ALL angles were 60 degrees when I started.
@marcuskc12 жыл бұрын
im watching this for the exact same reason lol
@DanielCopelandMD2 жыл бұрын
@@marcuskc1 I hope it worked out well for you. Sadly, as far as I can tell there is no way to make the tetrahedron shaped dices without having a relatively large amount of waste offcuts. Also, I ended up chamfering all the edges by rubbing them along sand paper to make it a little more comfortable to hold.

The dodecahedron is actually pretty easy with a band saw. If you convert each face of a cube to a rooftop shape at the right angle, with each face's rooftops pointed in a different direction, you get a dodecahedron in just 12 cuts. It's also possible to cut an Icosahedron from a slightly oblique dodecahedron.

I have to say I am in awe of your skill at this. That was amazing to watch. I will search for more detailed videos by you on how to do this step by step. This is the first video of yours I have watched. But it was awesome.
