This is the third part of my polymer clay African fabric cane. In this part of the tutorial I’ll show you how to combine simple canes into one project to create a complex cane.
In the last two parts I showed how to make a checker board and a stripe cane. Now I’ll show how to make a jellyroll and a honey comb cane with bulls eye canes. It’s a really simple project, but it’s great fun.

Thank you for yet another excellent tutorial, you have taught me to be a lot more careful with my polyclay work. My artwork tends to be more ‘go with the flow’ if you know what I mean but I think with clay, especially canes, you have to be more precise. You are a really good teacher, so pleased I found you.

this is a neat looking cane. Can't wait to see what kind of necklace you make out of the cane. :)

Hello Samantha! A few days ago I saw your work, your lessons. And all these days I watch your lessons with polymer clay. A complete delight! I don't know much English, but subtitles help me a lot. And really want to do something similar! I like everything you do. Everything is so informative, everything is so neat and clear. Thank you very much for your lessons!. I am a beginner, just learning to work with polymer clay. Tell me on what surface you roll out polymer clay? This piece of glass? Or a special surface? Because the clay pieces do not stick to work surface. Thanks again for all the lessons! I wish you luck, inspiration and success!

I like to use a ceramic tile to work on. Sometimes I'll use glass too. The clay does stick to it, but not badly.

there's one thing I didn't understand. I use fevicryl epoxy clay. as far as I was told, it's the same as polymer clay. but the epoxy clay sticks so much, it gets much harder to get the shapes or cut the sides or even roll them on a surface. I've used talcom powder to avoid the stickiness but it doesn't help much. what else can I do?

I haven't ever used Fevicryl Epoxy Clay so I can't be much help, but I do know that when I've looked up polymer clay that it's never come up. I don't think it's the same, but I could be wrong.

I Googled it and it looks like this is a 2-part, air drying epoxy product. If that’s the case, its use and characteristics are very different from polymer clay.
