Hi Ashley, I was wondering if the clay fuses to the metal hook while baking. I want to cover my metal punch needle win polymer clay and am so afraid of the clay falling off after baking. Hope I make sense. Love the video by the way. Thanks.

It sorta shrinks around the hook, it wont let go. It could chip off from dropping but it wont fall off

Hello Ashley thank you for the great tutorial I think I may give this a try but I have to buy the supplies but great job i'm so happy that I found you on you tube I'm trying to make a preemie hat for my friend that is having her first great grand child and she will be very tiny because the parent's have dwarf syndrome so the bonnet has to be very small but again thank you great job.

How do you keep the back from flattening while baking?

as long as your clay isnt too soft there shouldnt be a problem.

You can make an accordion with double (or triple) layer aluminum foil, and place the hook in one of the V shapes. Just be sure the foil is sturdy enough to not smush out. Another video suggested plain computer paper would work too, but I worry about putting that in the oven.

you can actually buff polymer clay to have a shine, check out some videos on finishing sanding polymer clay, especially with clay jewelry its not necessary but its nice :)
