Usually i watch for the tutorial part. After the video where you shared personal stuff and your struggles I’m now finding that I’m playing your videos while I’m creating just to listen to you talk. One idea to try to get your beads the same size. Get one of those little food scales. The ones that use grams. Right before you put your last slice on, weigh both beads and then cut that slice to equal the weight of the other bead so they’ll always be exactly the same.

Little digital gram scales are great for that, I made a necklace once and I weighed every core bead and then I added slices and weigh them again each bead was 0.2 g smaller than the next bead so I had a perfect size gradation of bead sizes like a string of pearls

Irene, I think you and I are spirit sisters! I started binge watching your videos after I realized it is time to stop collecting and start creating. I love your videos because you are 'real' and not scripted. Your work area is messy and a true statement to the real creative process. A neat tidy area makes me nervous LOL! I also appreciated you not editing to remove the 'mistakes' because those are the bits I appreciate the most. Thank you so much for your tutelage. P.S. I feel your pain on the printers - I have had to rebuild mine many times over .... I never wanted to be a mechanical engineer - but here I am!

I wrap my canes in plastic deli sheet with a little piece of painters tape they’re easy to open and re-close and that plastic deli sheets do not react with the clay, saran wrap does react with clay. It’s very slow, but that’s why it gets so sticky. It’s pulling the plasticizers out of the saran wrap. Wax paper just like copy paper will suck the plasticizer out of the cane.

If you want to swirl it and not turn the pattern just to get the shape. Spin it a few times One Direction and then direction and clay will un swirl.
