Hi! So I personally txted Chris Tran on Facebook. You have to look up angstrom research, the last post was like 7 years ago. Then just txt him over messenger. He said to me that he was going to be making a website soon but I haven’t seen it up. He told me that if I wanted more cubes coated to just ship them to his address and he would mail them back coated.

Hi, polymer coated cubes and coated cubes in general were created by a guy named Chris Tran back in 2017. He is the same person who put magnets into 3x3 and other end by end events. I purchased 3 cubes from him for my birthday, I also make coated cubes of my own. Essentially, coated cubes land into the category of mods. They make the base puzzle feel a different way. In this case, faster and more smooth. The coatings do not change the performance but rather the feel. Hope this helped :)

@ hi again, and it is not. Uv coating is an external layer of reflective, scratch resistant adhesive. Polymer/ other types of coatings are internal and make the cube feel different in terms of speed and friction. This is opposed to uv coating where it is purely appearance based.
