when i saw this will be the closing song in the new album never did i think it would have been this epic. Feels so good the appreciation from old gen to new gen of guitarist.

Steve said on an interview that the moment he was contacted by the Polyphia guys he got chuckles and said to them "Just give anything you guys got sparing and i'll play over it, i don't care" then Tim came with the first Riff and some other harmonies and went to Stevie's house to show him what he had, and he blew Vai's speakers lmao

Scott said in a recent video with Steve Vai that he doesn’t know how to read music. Needs tabs. Thought that was interesting because he’s so good.

Ohhh that is interesting. You would think they are all classically trained but that's a harsh misjudgement. Thank you and thanks for watching!! 🙏🏼💪🏼👊🏼

6:29 Clay Bass is the one who was classically trained. Clay Drums was in the drumline. It's hard for me to remember their last names. That's why I call them Clay Bass and Clay Drums. Tim and Scott both didn't go to college. Tim played the violin. Scott has always been on the guitars.
@nasfan92732 жыл бұрын
Clay Bass is 100% self-taught. When he was a teenager, he was also a good guitar player. He never picked up a bass, until he was around 17 yo. No lessons.

They had played with Steve on his tour, and some time after they were at a party and Tim got drunk and just asked Steve if they could collaborate. Tim said it was nervewracking af to ask that's why he had to get drunk lol Tim said this in an interview some time back that's on yt, but I can't remember where.

I think Polyphia was formed when Tim and Scott were still in high school. I believe Scott said that he could not read sheet music and Tim said that he was depressed for a week when he was rejected by Berklee.

I wouldn't describe it as similar to anyone's past performances, I've been listening to it since the 70's, but in the end it's different. It's not old musicians playing new music. Steve Vai is exceptionally good. I agree. I really enjoyed it. Great.

Yeah man...... the technicality is fuckin dope. The interplay between instruments is just filthy. Then...... when Vai comes in...... overlays all of the technical shit with straight fire....... man. He's WAY more subtle than I expected...... and tbh...... the track is elevated next level because he's restrained. Badass music ...... for people with ADHD that have worn out their Dream Theater discography.
@tre07reactions2 жыл бұрын
Dream Theater, nice!! I totally get what you're saying about Vai holding back..the way he adds his own thing without compromising the Polyphia sound makes it that much better!! 💪🏼👊🏼🤩

I could be wrong about Scott's guitar as I'm a bassist and don't know much about guitar models, but I THINK it's an Ibanez Iron Label. It's 100% as Ibanez, as he is an Ibanez endorsed artist.

Why did they do that? It got your attention, didn’t it? Your reaction of “What was that” is probably the most common reaction I’ve seen at that specific moment. I don’t know if that was their intention, but that is the outcome with many.
