As a HUGE Brasstracks/Polyphia fan, I never would've thought this combo would happen. My day is made.

I watched this song live in Denver a few months ago, and watching this with Brasstracks is so good. I've been listening to Ego Death a lot recently, but I don't know which song I like more. Then again, the entire record so far is incredible.

In one of their streams they said the beginning, middle and end songs of the album (Genesis, All Falls apart, Ego Death) are all "sister songs" which brasstracks features most on. Something about there being a recurring melody/theme within the 3 songs which explains why Genesis sounds like a nod to Ego Death/vice versa. We'll probably hear some familiar lines in All Falls Apart and I'm down for thattt

if I remember correctly GOAT I structured after a Taylor swift song that Tim absolutely hated

@@HokiHumby no it’s OD that was based of both a Kanye song and Taylor Swift, GOAT was based off a jaden smith song

You're half right. You might be thinking of "Needy", the part where it's like "I know it feels so good to be needed".

It sounds like the trumpet is flat in some parts

Camera mic probably wasn’t able to pick it up just like it doesn’t pick up the multi voicer for the guitar in some parts

Maybe they accidentally use a different tuning? 440 vs 435?
@mariano4617 Жыл бұрын
Nah, he’s just blasting and that’s why he’s flat! Disappointed! Wish he didn’t blast throughout the tune! This tune would sound great if he focused his sound! Maybe if he carried his horn with both hands, just say’n.

that just tends to happen live with almost every trumpet player ever, trumpet is a SUPER difficult instrument to make sound perfectly clean on every note for an entire song especially when there's only one trumpet so it isn't overlapped by the other players

NGL the trumpet sounds pretty awful at some parts.

Idk if its the way the mic is picking it up but it sounded great live

Sounded great to me honestly, but to each their own
@Mwinslow1467Ай бұрын
Yeah… he’s playing one handed (for some reason?) and the range he recorded in original isn’t the easiest for everyone to play perfect every single time. Not a terrible performance but not jaw dropping either
@HaynesEllisАй бұрын
Trumpet is pretty hard to pull off solos like that on I’m pretty sure, the fact that he did it live is incredible. Don’t expect him to get it perfect

Perfect apart from the screaming idiots overlapping it all. Damnnnnn good video though
