This song is unbelievably difficult. For you to play this shows by itself that you're AT LEAST nearing mastery of highly advanced techniques, and if this is as easy for you as you make it look, then you're probably already in the top 1% of guitarists. I know the people who inspired you to play guitar would be proud to see what they've created, because you're an absolute monster!
@julien8097 Жыл бұрын
O.D is hard AF, but i wouldn't say unbelivably hard if you want to see polyphia's hardest song ever, please go check Polyphia - Aviator (Jason Richardson SOLO), you'll thank me later ;)
@Overgis4058 Жыл бұрын
@@julien8097with all due respect if you dont think OD is that hard, you are not my audience 😂. Its definitely harder than Playing God which i have learned (all except for that nightmare outro). Imma check out that song, but I imagine Ill need to visit a therapist afterward xD
@julien8097 Жыл бұрын
@@Overgis4058 it's hard, i know it's hard as i can play it full tempo (the riff), it's actually the hardest riff i can play BUT i'm just saying that compared to Aviator's solo 😂, O.D is easy, you'll understand when you hear it trust me he're is a great cover of the solo, if you wanna see the finger wizardery that's going on here : [ Polyphia - Aviator | Cover by Laci ]
@umu5037 Жыл бұрын
'Oh yea, shred is hard omg!!!' Aviator is hard, no doubt, yet, pretty different compared to O.D, specially when you only refer a solo instead of a complete song and the list of techniques to think about By judging the way you say about this, I'm pretty sure you haven't touched a guitar enough or played one of these two songs In one hand you have a high bpm solo for 16th notes and in other you have a long list of technique in tight 16ths for almost 3 minutes, no point in doing a comparison anyway
@julien8097 Жыл бұрын
@@umu5037 yeah well funnily, the last 2 hours of my life before going now on youtube and seeing your comment, were spent practicing O.D (Riff) 60->102.5% Tempo, They are different, but at least to me, O.D is way easier than Richardson Aviator's Solo, like by far, Now when you say O.D is a full song and Aviator's Solo is just a Solo : {*O.D* = 6-Time of 14 Seconds Riff, 1-Time of "that 13 Seconds Shred", + some easy filler; => basicly if you can learn these intense 27 Seconds, you mastered O.D, cause it's a very repetitive song *Aviator's Solo* = is a f****** almost 2 Minutes never ending hell of a shred} Plus you're confusing me when you're saying tight 16th fret, Lol.. that's tight if you're playing on a classical guitar, it sure aint if you're playing on a 24Fret SuperStrat

I have a serious cuestion, how do you become this good at guitar or any instrument? for real, I mean, I have what? 12 years playing, and doing the excercises trying to learn new songs, chords, etc. and i not even close of this incredible level. I watch all this amazing guitarist in youtube to get inspired but then i just feel kinda lost (?). I hope this is only me being bad with the instruments, and wish that all the other guitarist in the world get this good or even better because we need more of this awesome music and musicians.

I have the exact same question man. His playing is impossibly effortless too. Keep at it bro, ull get there one day, we all will hopefully.
@Mateusz_Wedmann2 жыл бұрын
The advice I could give you is simply to practice the things that are difficult for you. For example, take a solo or a riff you like, find a short part in the solo/riff that is difficult for you, it could be a phrase that you use alternating picking and switch from string to string ect and practice it for an hour or two each day. The key is to play really short phrases and play them over and over. Remember to also practice at full speed, not just slow tempo, as our technique usually differs when we play fast and slow. I recommend to watch this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHfXZ6NsmdaKjbs
@Luke-ih1oc2 жыл бұрын
@@Mateusz_Wedmann It sounds like you're talking about chunking - breaking parts of the arrangement into smaller chunks and practicing them, then combining them. An excellent strategy for practice. I am nowhere near Mateusz's skill level though I have at least some experience with guitar and learning complex arrangements (fingerstyle). Here's my advice for whatever it may be worth: practice without mistakes. For me this means practicing slowly, and increasing tempo over time as I feel able. Occasionally I'll turn the tempo up just to test how I'm playing at faster tempos but I'll bring it back down to a level where there aren't mistakes if I'm suddenly hitting wrong notes and messing shit up.
@AlexandrBorschchev2 жыл бұрын
you need to want to play guitar. if you play thinking you're supposed to be better, you're doing it wrong. you don't need to do 'exercises', you only exercise when you are trying to improve on a mistake or master a technique SO you can play a song you like. you don't need to learn music theory BEFORE playing music, that will set you up to nowhere. Just choose any song that sounds good to you, start with basic before moving to complex songs (start with the level you're comfortable playing in), then learn it (find tabs, or learn by ear). I recommend you to learn classical guitar, classical is straightforward in that you will be exposed to melody, rhythm, harmony, bass, and every musical core at its basics. If you are poor like me, learn to play by ear. listen to the melody of any song, see where each note you hear is on the fretboard. THEN you learn chords, learn progressions, learn some basic music theory, learn techniques. THEN you can make your own arrangement for that song.. and possibly many others. Finally, remember, you don't need to learn anything before playing, you LEARN when and while playing. Lastly, you can always buy tabs if you have money. In fact this is how I started, learned to play from tabs from Candyrat artists, then learned to arrange songs without tabs anymore :).
