This is one of those cases where the music is made electronically first, and THEN they have to figure out how to actually play it with physical instruments and human hands. As a side note, the clip of Tim playing a section after explaining his difficulty in "figuring out how to even play it", is the most effort I've seen him put into playing. Can we talk about how the video puts the icing on the cake, making this a masterpiece? The comfortable body language of them jamming in the godly mansion with no focus on anything but the feeling in the room is transcending. _"Can we talk about how the video puts the icing on the cake, making this a masterpiece?"_ In principle, sure, I'd love to, but I got a lump in my throat and the talking part is a bit hard. Can we just agree that you talk and I nod? ;) You're doing a great job :) Okay, forget it I'll talk. Yes, exactly. And I'm not a videographer but a musician and physics enthusiast and I love to dance and when I look at a video like this one I can't help but see all of it come together. To me it's all music, the visuals, the passion, the location, the angles, the clothing changes and choices. This is what my mind does when I sit in the sun and see a butterfly hopping from flower to flower, so I might be a bit weird, but really, rhythm is everywhere, from the light waves to the neutrons and the moving air and everything is music in that sense and we all dance to the tunes of the universe.

That is exactly what I love about this song. Too many instrumental songs get boring fast because they are 8 minute plus epics. This beauty is the length of a pop song with the melodies of a symphony. Not usually my thing but hot damn these boys have really captured a new direction in music all for themselves.

Part of what's I find satisfying about Polyphia's music is that, despite all the technical wildness and flourishes, the melody is always there running under the surface of it all. It never loses track of itself or places all the technical stuff above the melody itself, which keeps it feeling clean.
@howdy1487 Жыл бұрын
I saw a few guitar videos lately and heard this style by other players and heard this band named as the inspiration. What they're doing is very technical and difficult, but I'm not a big fan. It basically sounds like: Dipadipadipadipadum Struuum Struuum StrumStrum Strum Dipa doopa pingpongping Strum dipadoopa Strump Pling... To me it lacks soul and fails to take me anywhere. Here's what I mean. Recently, I read a review of Hendrix's Machine Gun performance at the Fillmore that described his enormous talent so well. It said, "other guitarists play the guitar, Hendrix played a war." Eddie Van Halen played a volcano that shook the guitar world. His band was Rock 'n Roll sexual overdrive driven by Eddie and the band's incredible atom bomb sound. That's what I'm talkin'bout. I have eclectic taste too, from classical, to blues, jazz, country, rock, rap, anything that suits my ear. It doesn't have to be heavy. This Polyphia thing is cute little melodies and runs routinely interrupted with technical flourishes that sometimes seem to have no purpose other than to show off whilst ruining the flow of the song. It's all over the fretboard, difficult as all get-out, but doesn't really go anywhere. I'd much rather listen to a far less studied Blitzkrieg Bop because you know the Ramones mean business. Anyways, that's my opinion. P.S. I've seen some good players that post a buncha short li'l bits of covers and orig's. Why not full songs and compositions? Is it a copyright thing? Li'l bits gets old quick.

It’s so fucking cool to see how far these guys have come - to see how much they have evolved but still managed to stay true to the polyphia sound we all know and love. Such a banger!!!!

This is man can be so outrageous and also so moving. This is how you recognize great artists. And this song is an inspiration and a hug for everyone who fucked up as parents and try to do their best to repare what our children kept sacred anyway.

I discovered Polyphia by accident the same day this was released, I've never been more glad to discover a band. Been obsessed now for 5 days straight ! Can't wait for you guys to release more

I'll go ahead and give you a tip, The current album he is working on is gonna take a while as he said it's a huge feature album, most if not every song is gonna be a feature with some big mofo's. Enjoy the ride.
@marisabel55002 жыл бұрын
@@enslavingsociety9203 Thankyou! I don't mind waiting because I just KNOW it will be fire. What are mofo's? Also I've heard several of Tims short videos where he plays REALLY amazing riffs. I personally love Blood Moon most, I am wishing hard that the longer version will be featured !

These sounds are addicting. When I’m not listening, they are in my head. When I listen, I gotta listen 10x.
