If you do this Loopy, Get yourself some woolen gloves and cut the top of the fingers off, that way it wont hurt your fingers so much hand tying. It is worth it as it is reversible so its is two in one.

Thank you Susan but... and there is a but with this one you can only hand tie this you can't shuttle tie it or you will cut through your tying strands when you cut the bottom pom poms. you HAVE TO HAND TIE IT. It wo. uld look stunning done in black and white

you can use any size frame but the larger the frame much more yarn is needed

love your work iv made two,but how do you please get your pompoms closer together to eache other,is it the size of wool or is it the size of nail ,the amount of rounds pleeeeese ?is 4inch nails best

the nail spacing depicts the gap, you can add an extra round for fuller pom poms but its harder to tie it all in tight enough. I used 5-inch nails and its 5 round for base and 5 for pom pom layer. Have a look at my other videos you might get a better idea on how to make them. This is an old video and a hand-tied blanket.

The same way I made a big one. I have a tutorial on how to make a pom pom blanket part 1 is how to make frames. I made this smaller one to make blankets for children's doll prams

If you make a frame put the even number of nails along the long sides and an odd number of nails along the short sides. This will keep any non pom pom blankets you make an even pattern.
