My pom doesn't take well to being rejected. I think part of it is because his first human just flat out decided she didn't like him and his second, my mother in law, just couldn't handle his level of energy at her age. So, I was his 3rd human and it took me almost a month to get him to trust me. He would spend almost every day crying at the door waiting for his "mom" to come back to pick him up. So I started just going over and sitting by the door with him. One day he just quit crying and sat down with his ears all flat and looked at me. I just unfolded my hands from my lap and asked him to come here. He got up on my lap and as soon as I reached to pet him he put his paws around my hand and just pulled it up to his face and laid there staring at me for a few minutes and then went to sleep. He's been attached to me like a shadow ever since. He does see his mom sometimes and knows exactly who she is, runs to her and wants cuddles and to play, but he's OK when she leaves and just goes on with his little day.

had a Pom just like yours. I miss him every day. He could never get filled up on love. My Pom that I have now is aloof and actually growls if you try to touch him and he is not in the mood . unfortunately, my boy is a 20 pound throw back Pomeranian. So when he gets bumped or touched and he is not in the mood? Get ready to see all gums and teeth and a snarl from the devil.
