Leslie, you are correct!! However, May I humbly add, that as long as you don’t shave down to the skin or into the double coat deeply, then it is ok. It’s more of a top trim. I adopted a baby Pom that had issues where his fur fell out due to mange and now his fur does not grow back due to him developing BSD, which is why you never shave poms. Now I am stuck doing teddy bear cuts because his fur does not grow right. Thank you for pointing this out about this breed.
