It's a cool looking stove, but I'm not crazy about the way coals can/will fall out when you open the door. It sounds like it needs a lip (or a bigger lip.) at the bottom, to hold the coals in.

That's a nice looking stove. Nice big front glass...but the problem is as you mentioned, when you open the door, ashes fall out. You better have a fire retardant mat in your tent. I use the Russian Bear " Caminus" medium stove..it rocks. Mind you it's not a backpacking stove,more for hunting camp,truck camp...ect. The word design is usually used wrong. I made spacecraft parts for a living for many years and was a tool designer the proper word for design is an unfinished project or drawing of a problem you’re solving when most people say design they either mean shape color configuration something is built not designed it’s almost like saying I like the running of that person is jogging the word design is a word of operation of doing something that hasn’t been made yet

I have been curious of there were tent stoves with a secondary burn function like some house wood burning stoves. I think the Pomoly Dwelle series has a secondary burn function. My question is does it look like smoke is coming out of the chimney when it is up to temperature?
@AdventureswithSpackmann
@AdventureswithSpackmann Жыл бұрын
@JohnSmith FakeName there is lots of air intakes which I would guess add to the smokeless when it’s up to temperature. The stove has a little baffle before the chimney output as well. Great review of the Max version of the Dweller stove! Its great that you show us the cooking area can hold 2 pots. What is the volume sizes of the pots? About 1 Liter? I’m looking for the either Max or the standard version, but cannot decide which would better suit my purpose. I would like to cook in it, so a bigger area would be nice. On the other end the overal size of the Max does seem to be a bit big to easily carry it around if you need to make a walk from your car to a nice camp site. Do you perhaps also have experience with the standard Dweller version?
@AdventureswithSpackmann
@AdventureswithSpackmann Жыл бұрын
@Jeroen Scheffe you’re welcome. The cook pot is 1.5 and tea pot is 1.3. I don’t have experience with the standard version but there was much more room left to cook with after these two were on top. I doubt you would be able to get two onto the standard unless they are smaller in diameter. Also look into the size difference cause I doubt it’s that much and probably won’t make much difference in terms of weight or ease of carrying it around, I think both aren’t small or light. The titanium version maybe a different story. Thanks for watching.

@@AdventureswithSpackmann Thank you for your reply and information. You are indeed right about the Dweller being a bit bulky, but like the Stovehut I also like this design; especially when you take it with you by car or some sort. I noticed 3 of same tents, something good about it?
@AdventureswithSpackmann
@AdventureswithSpackmann Жыл бұрын
@xx mike lol no. I bought one on preorder when they first came out. When I received it I took it camping and we ended up getting a rain storm at 33F just above freezing. The tent leaked like crazy! Contacted the company ( Pomoly) about the issue. I have 3 here but owned 4 because they kept sending “fixed” replacements that leaked just as bad as the first. They kept selling them knowing they leaked too. I have lots of videos on them. Stove Hut 70. I have a water torture test I do on tents and it usually does a good job of pointing out weak areas in a tent. Thanks for watching

@@AdventureswithSpackmann Oh I see. Did those bastards pulled the product or finally fixed the leak than? If not, badstards, bad business practice.
@AdventureswithSpackmann
@AdventureswithSpackmann Жыл бұрын
@xx mike they kept selling them for months. BUT when they finally fixed the problem they offered to anyone that purchased one a fixed one(if my memory is correct). They also had a problem with their solid stove pipes being configured upside down. Allowing creosote to drip down the outside of the pipe and potentially on your stove and or tent. When they fixed the problem with the pipes, they replaced or sent adapters to the you if you had a problem. And there were a lot from what I saw and to my knowledge they received replacements. So that is something good about them, they have corrected their problems with their customers.

I want a stove that I don't have to feed every 10 to 15 minutes. So the size of this is nice, but then coals falling out? That's a bit of a problem.
@AdventureswithSpackmann
@AdventureswithSpackmann Жыл бұрын
@Anastasia E. This size is nice but I feel it needs a tray on the front below the door to catch the coals. A diy tray may not be that hard to make. My favorite big stove is the Knico Alaskan. I have a few videos using that stove. It’s pretty budget friendly too. Thanks for watching
