A crossover with the princesses in this sense would have been a work much appreciated by the general public, but the idea of turning the princesses into mothers, at least for a children's audience, is very controversial, perhaps if instead of the birth of the babies it had been the coronation of all the princesses, we would have had one of the best and most memorable crossovers.

There’s a lot of cute ideas here like Alice and Wendy as flower girls and the crocodile chase, but I think Noah’s Ark was the better direction. Donald got to shine in the final idea, whereas here, he’d have been overshadowed by all the cameos.

Already better than anything Descendants gave us. Though if this was made today (and if a certain film didn't robbed us of potential couples), the Princes & Princesses would be aged up a bit and there will be more royal couples enjoying in (Mulan & Shang, Tiana & Naveen, Rapunzel & Eugene, Anna & Kristoff, and Asha & Starboy). Also there will be variety of children the couples have (some will have twins, triplets, second borns, or adopted children).

It seems that there is another version of this scene. The reason I say that is because there are some storyboards from the Fantasia Legacy Documentary that are not fron this version. Plus there were details we heard like the Disney Villains crashing the party, Donald trying to get the Sorcerer's Hat, and the Fab Five together. I hope that second version is found someday.

I highly doubt Melody was the baby gifted to Ariel and Eric in this scrapped concept considering The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea was made by a completely different team of writers and animators from the ones that worked on the original at DisneyToon Studios and this segment being developed by the original team at Walt Disney Animation Studios. So it’s possible the baby in this segment could’ve been a different gender like a boy or just a generic baby.

I'm comparing this to Donald & Daisy in the final Noah's Ark segment of Fantasia 2000. That had humor and heart while this mostly showed cameos of various Disney characters (which was much better done more recently in Once Upon a Studio). I'm glad of the chance to see what might have been, but happier with what was actually produced.

I can understand why it ended up not happening, but still it does looks like something all Disney fans would want to watch, especially if you're the generation before Princess Tiana was introduced in 2009. Disney Descendants not yet released till 2015. This doesn't surprise me since Disney has been around for over a century, there's more we don't know. Like I didn't know there was once a show called "The Mickey Mouse Club" in the 1950s, I didn't know this til Mickey Mouses 90th birthday in 2018.

I have to wonder if some small remnant of this idea made in the final version. While not a full-on mass crossover, the segment that was finalized does feature some minor cameo appearances by other familiar Disney animated characters - though mostly as background animals.

I agree about this. That would’ve make a wonderful scene, hoping when the princes and princesses were going to have children together. But for some reason they it cut out. Maybe Roy Disney didn’t like the idea because most of the Disney princesses are below the age of 18. It’s like Roy Disney said to the Disney princesse 👸🏼 “Sorry ladies, but because some of you are below the age of 18, you will not be able to have any children until you’re 21 or older. Well except for you Ariel, you’re probably older than that by now and you already have a child. So you and Eric are free to have children together and your daughter Melody can stay. Congratulations!” Ariel: Oh thank you Roy! (Hugs and kisses her daughter Melody) Melody: (Giggles) Aw Mom. Disney princesses: Aww 🥰! Roy: (Clears throat) Ahem. As for the rest of you, you all have to wait untill you’re 21 or older to have your future children.
