Certainly the best at matching experimental side of things, with quality in Aus. In terms of actual "bands". Dunno about the world, but yeah they're up there for me

This album is far and away their best....and that's saying something. The whole world is sleeping on this band big time. They've put out so much amazing music. For me, The Weather was a real high point. But this album exceeds that. Their songwriting style I think is key, and something I've always done making my own music...jamming for hours, then mining for the best bits, and creating songs from THAT. Makes every single moment nothing but ear candy...and super catchy and creative and weird...but with a real smooth flow to all of it.

It's going to be wild watching everyone go all the way back down their catalog. I look forward to the day.

I hope you're right, but I've got a feeling that they'll never truly break out or escape the shadow of Tame Impala. As it is, many people who have heard of them (which is still a pretty small number) on a surface-level basis think they're either just Kevin Parker's live band and/or one of his side projects (I've seen people actually give _him_ sole credit for being the "genius" behind Pond). Another reason I have doubts that they'll make it big is from personal experience when playing their music around others; whenever I introduce someone to their work, they either love it or can't get into it whatsoever due to it being too "weird", and unfortunately, the latter is the typical reaction people have. I'm very fortunate to have a few friends who love 'em just as much as I do, but I feel that if they were truly going to get big they would have by now; their past three albums have been chock-full of songs that should've gone completely viral and taken the world by storm. With each new album I always think to myself, "This is it, this is the one that'll finally put them over the top", but sadly I'm always proven wrong.

Couldn't have put it better myself. The Weather was also the high point for me right up until this album came along. I love all of their material, but that album along with this one hold a very special place in my heart. They have such a knack for taking well-known sounds/styles and actually creating something unique and interesting with them. There aren't many artists nowadays who can successfully pull that off, at least not in the mainstream, which is where these boys belong.

The gang seem to be really heavily leaning on the Funk side of things for this one, and I am all here for it! I was bopping like crazy to "Americas Cup". I actually legit wanna learn how to play that on bass. They seem to be the happiest they've ever been and that pleases me to no end. Hoping they come to Bristol (UK) real soon. I've wanted to see them live for years.
