I know, I know, it's a lot, but what can I say? They're my all-time favorite band. I'm also obsessed with plenty of their solo work, such as Jay Watson, aka GUM, who released the second best album of 2024 _(Stung!_ takes the cake imho) with _Ill Times,_ a collaboration album made with Ambrose Kenny-Smith of King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard. If you've yet to hear that or any of GUM's previous albums -- particularly _Saturnia_ (2023), _Out In the World_ (2020), _The Underdog_ (2018), _Flash In the Pan_ (2016), and _Glamorous Damage_ (2015) -- then I _implore_ you to do so as soon as you can, especially if you're already a fellow fan of Pond.

I love this song a ton! I don't understand what the lyrics are about because I understand the title is a reference to the book "The Sailor who fell from grace with the sea" by Yukio Mishima which is really Japanese but the lyrics relate more to a Greek setting which would remind me (a bit) of Icarus. The only line that seems to relate to the book is "and if anyone asks I did it for grace, I did it for the red red rising sun" which Japan is the nation of the rising sun which symbolically the book is for the red red rising sun. Maybe I'm just not familiar enough with the book but this is all I could figure.
