Can't wait to see the pretty part and sure love a round or oval pond also .I love how your bottom drain is deep set as most I have seen are not as deep and guessing not as effective in cleaning the pond .Can't wait to see the bottom drain with the aerator working also .

I have a customers small pond in oak glen right up the hill from you. I have changed the liner twice on it as the bears love to take a bath in it. I am recommending we change to a plaster or cement pond. Being as the walls are slick the bears claw into the liner to get out. Thats not pretty at all.

@@benisplayin yeah that is rough. Unless the pond liner has large stone protecting the liner it can be a big challenge. Stop by the ranch say Hey one day.

Hi can I put the water in the pond straight away after fitting the flange on the bottom drain

I have using a polyurethane sealant. On skimmer faceplate seals we will fill the pond within an hour. It never hurts to play it safe. Always good to get a little cute time before throwing water on it. 👊😅💦

I built mine rectangular this way i would have folds on only 4 corners .I don't have any rocks in my pond either .Makes it easier to keep the pond bottom clear and clean .Now you can see how big your dip is to the bottom drain as the water fills it .

sissy murphy Hey sissy!!! You're one of my most loyal followers and I thank you for that!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!!! A rectangular pond is very easy to hide the wrinkles that is true. I still love the look of an oval or irregular shaped pond. We filmed the beginning of the waterfall construction yesterday and it is coming along quite nicely! I can't wait for you to see then next steps!!! We're moving into some fun territory on film!!!

How much time should I allow after I seal the bottom drain to the liner with the polyurethane black caulk just like you did, before I start filling my pond with water?

Stupid question but how do you get out? Id imagine anything like a step stool/ladder wouldnt be good for the liner?

Pond Digger: Question, could the air line and diffuser be checked at this point to be sure it is working before filling completely with water?

brendabartz2026 Yes the line can certainly be tested at this point. One tip I didn't show is using a shop vacuum to check to see if the lines are clear.

We just dropped our liner in the pond. We made and “L” shape pond and are worried about the outside corner. I don’t want to cut the bottom drain until I KNOW for sure the liner is in the proper angle. Any advice would be greatly appreciated 🙏

Do you ever use the pond sealing tape to tape the folds down, or does the water pressure on the side keep them pressed against the sides and in place. Love you shows. Am building a 2500 gallon pond and following your instructions.
