This song is _deceptively_ good. It took me a good 3 listens to realize what a killer song it is. The genius of it kinda flew under my radar initially....but on repeat listens, this is a super cool creative catchy song. And the visuals are awesome!
@cyyytr0n2 жыл бұрын
I found this album to be quite a grower on me, I only liked "Elvis Flaming Star" when I first listened to it, I couldn't dig the space keys and the odd layered production, but now I get it.. Still, this ain't my favourite by them, but a solid synth pop album for sure

I remember whenever this album came out. I was laying in a field by my parents house stoned as shit off edibles just laying in the grass in bliss with headphones listening to this. It was a tough time during my life; 23YO no car, shit job, dad dying of terminal cancer, just a tough time. However, this song made everything going wrong feel like things were going to get better. My Dad has been gone since 2015 but this song will always remind me of him and the good times, and growing up and sticking it out. An absolute masterpiece

You know taht actually there isn't a fine line separating Pond and Tame Impala. They are all friends and collaborate to one another's project. Nick plays/ed in Tame Impala, Jay aswell. Even KP played drums and produced some of Pond's songs. I find them like a nice big group of friends, with two big projects. And they play in both of them when needed.

Tiberiu Şagău YOu are damn right!
@pizzax58 жыл бұрын
+Tiberiu Şagău The difference here is that Tame Impala actually looks like "Kevin and friends" because he likes to write everything alone, thats why i like POND much more.
@Daar648 жыл бұрын
+pizzax5 it's not that kevin likes to write alone, it's his project and god bless his mind cause he is from outter space
@econogate8 жыл бұрын
+pizzax5 Kevin seems mildly ordinary and sane, pond seems insane....which makes usually for weirder and more interesting music in some sense, less commercial but cult and long term significance, it'll never get old kind of thing cause it's so out there, whereas Kevin works in the milieu of modern producers which makes his music more likely to use the "current" techniques which come and go out of fashion quickly. These guys are just soaking up everything...I almost think they should have called themselves Sponge instead, but Pond maybe a good metaphor as well, sort of a swampy muck steaming full of life in miniature.
@Daar648 жыл бұрын
Currents is a good album but it's getting the attention of some shit people that loves pop and its out of this pyschedelic music and so it's kinda getting fashion and that shit,like posers and shit like that

Seems like Jay had a lot of influence in this song IMO... I hear a lot of Gum "Delorean Highway" in this track. Fucking love it though!
@ReptarBodyPillows9 жыл бұрын
According to one of the comments about this song here: "The track mimics the uneasiness songwriter Jay Watson would get when visiting empty construction sites during his youth: 'We’d sit at the top and I’d always be afraid that we were gonna fall off, kill ourselves. That’s what the song is about. Kind of an anxiety power ballad,' he explained." Can't confirm it though.
