I honestly didn't think I would take away anything from this video of a tree that's completely unapproachable but it was easily one of the most informative videos I've seen lately.

I've only watched a few japanese bonsai youtube videos, many have no talking. It's great to hear japanese in this video and lots of explanation from fujikawa san.

Academy only provides a stepping stone to one's craft. Practical application in one's chosen craft, allows for the realization of the perceived outcome. Bonsai is an ebb and flow, of energy directed from the tree, to the master. It is the masters understanding of this symbiotic relationship, that allows for maturation to develop, and move to the next level. Patience and time, are the only limiting factors.

Through me off with that Japanese for a second lol. I’m slowly learning more languages, so it was interesting how my brain went from bonsai focus to trying to catch intonation, and other sounds and going between two hobbies :) i just found a bonsai channel in Spanish, I’m saving this video for when i get more serious with Japanese 😊

Amazing and the best pine I have seen. The natural realism given from the trunk and dead wood is fantastic.

Does Masayuki have any relation to Bjorn’s teacher Fujikawa?

I was thinking the same thing but just knowing the relationship between Bjorn, fujikawa, and Ryan I would seriously doubt it 😢.

the video is just incredible. Thank you , I think Indian pine is similar to ponderosa pine in terms of having long needles, bark is very different though. Bark of Indian pine is more beautiful. Arigato , mirai mas 🙏🏻

I live in California and there a ponderosa pine that is massive on my family’s property. The base of the truck is larger than all the redwood trees on the property

Once a senpai alway a Senpai, look at how Fujikawa immediately tries to fix Ryans wire to stay in line with the existing one. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hHPQk4Svr7yjgJY he then realizes that they are not in Japan so gave up on it.

Hey Stuart, this is a video from the Mirai Live library that was shared back in 2019, that we are just now resurfacing to our KZbin channel. Our KZbin and Mirai Live notifications/emails are separate. Hope that helps :)

Oh tightening them thick branches makes me a bit concerned about both of your safety. Have you ever tried using one way anchor wire vice. You probably save a bit on the cost of wire while providing a superior hold.

Wow If you place that in a nice pot and place it somewhere out front of the house, that would definitely be a nice welcoming Bonsai...might attract robbers also.

Tot gießen ist bei Birken nicht möglich! Erwachsene Bäume brauchen in der Saison ungefähr 20.000 Liter Wasser! Ungefähr 75 % mehr als andere einheimische Bäume. (im Freiland)

Constructive Critice! In my opinion it is too hasty and not relaxing. I dont feel it. It's too fast and too much planned for me, almost like a Movie. Couldnt watch this more than 10 mins. Please dont feel Offended, as i said, constructive critice ;)
