Supernatural Confessions

The area of Punggol is one of the oldest known settlements in Singapore. It existed even before the founding of modern Singapore in 1819. That’s more than 200 years ago. Who knows what secrets are buried beneath the land especially since it’s common for people of that era to dabble in animism and shamanic practices. In the book, Malay Magic, author Walter William Skeat details the beliefs and folklore that was popular in Malay Peninsula during that time. The older generation who remembers Singapore during its kampong days still hold onto the memories and the superstitions that were passed on to them.
This is the second installment of the Ponggol Urban Legend Series. Read the full story on www.supernaturalconfessions.c...

My friend’s 6-year-old son once saw “people” walking from the water towards the trees at Punggol settlement during the 7th month; my friend didn't see anyone. After this incident, she said she would never go back there again.

I was also a fisherman in the early 90s. The Flying head story is true. No joke. Don't play play. But now it's a develop place with coast guards there. The only think is don't let the fisherman's sinker hit your head when they casting their lines.

this channel is really good, its naturalistic style is very important, because many channels ' videos are too stylised. and also urban legends is something of great value to the land and to the people.

A very good narrative. And yes, I think they did find a skull along the beach, half embeded in the sand, not very many years a go. Somehow, I feel supernatural or religious practitioners should hold some responsibilities to help relief trapped spirits to move on. Who else have the ability, if not them. In Taiwan, I believe they do as it's their duty, or called upon by their dieties/Gods.

Please , Punggol end, the jetty is such a nice place. relaxing after work at midnight at the beach decades back it’s ok. Just don’t wander to certain spots. Haunted houses now cleared. The old road there was more dangerous than the infrequent sightings of paranormal. But don’t go in the bush. There are old wells and sink holes around. Not a place you want to go alone for safety sake. Now new projects are clearing everything. more danger from pythons, and animals than ghosts. Want a good scare? I’ll tell you a story at Punggol in the dark.

Last time during the village days. There were alot of malays using black magic to protect themselves from other black magic. They practice black magic sometimes to protect themselve and family, sometimes for their own good but sometimes they use it to get a revenge or have bad intention to someone they dont like and it can lead to death. Im sure not only in singapore during village days. But other country still practicing it. Cause my grandma its not from singapore, she came from other village and she always shared story during her younger days in kampung.

just want to clarify here: a shaman is not bad, or bad-intentioned. in many cultures, a shaman is a medicine man, someone who is connected to the land or certain energies and contributes to their local community by healing in both physical, mental, spiritual, energetic ways. there are many shamans in malaysia, both from old lines of teaching to neo-shamans who are reconnecting with old roots or learning new ways from different energies. nowadays these people are called healers. someone who practises or learns about these things is not immediately 'bad' or 'evil'. Even those who take the left hand path may not be evil-intentioned, only that that is the kind of energy they dabble in.

Where will the spirits be lurking after the city gets more urbanised?
@bernardsoh3938

These unrest spirits still will lurking around the urbanized city. Usually people doesn't have the spiritual eyes to see them. Only some of us born with those eyes able to see and communicate with them could see them daily, day or night no difference. I myself able to see these unrest souls and spirits. I choose to engore them, everyday.

I believe they will reside in objects eg discarded dolls, umbrellas, rocks and even possessed animals eg cats, birds... There may be some truth when our elders used to ask us not to anyhow pick up discarded objects and bring home. Just my own view.

no need to look far for "ghosts" or spirits. they're around you in the house too. in your bed? turn your head lol it's probably one there. if they don't shot themselves to you or make their presence known or torment you, it means they are minding their own business.
