I have been loading on a 800 C for years. Some shot power will compress over time. It might be a good idea to drine the power out of the press between loadings. I load with Longshot power. Looks like you have a great set-up.

Thanks for the comment and the compliment. I load about 300 shells each week most weeks, it is rare for it to stay still for more than two days. You are correct, if it is going to lay up powder should be drained and stored in its original container.

I've got the same one but found the powder pours with powder like longshot to vary up to 1.7 grains between pours, sliding the powder on and off lever accumulates powder between the plastic discs to be dispensed at any time it feels like falling out. Really wasn't impressed after cutting some shells open and weighing charges of both beads and powder - both dispensing more than it was when set up to the point its a safety issue. I took the top lid off completely and hand pour powder charges /shot charges when the shell is in the right stage with the handle in the down position exposing the bushing cutouts for a direct pour. It's usable this way but darn slow. you get 1 completed shell every 8 lever pulls.

Are you using aftermarket bushings or PW bushings?
@foonus4069 күн бұрын
@@LegendaryPlowboy they are marked with the stamps from PW, I got the unit used and in pretty rough shape - slowly got it to the stage I could use it to load this season as described above. There are noticeable wear marks on the plastic gear disks and the ones below as well, and the O-ring seems to be round and not flat. Likely needs more work than that because the turret is very "clunky" when it falls into the final part of the rotation, enough for me to need to put a finger on top of the filled shell temporarily so that none of the bbs bounce out. for $400 Cnd at least i can handload with it as it is - all be it a bit slower. It did come with a separate new lid that has cutouts to allow for direct pouring with the top housing still on there.

Maybe reach out to PW for some replacement parts or adjustment tips. www.reloaders.com/collections/machine-parts/800b-c-cvt-machine-parts

What upgrades have you done with your 800b? I just bought an 800b in really good shape but it’s not updated at all

A fine machine. I have done nothing to this machine other than move it from the bench of the previous owners to my bench. I don't know enough about them to tell you if it had any upgrades or not and unfortunately the last owner has passed on. I hope you have as much fun and success with your machine as I have mine.

I have a friend that sold and refurbished them for years (an ATA Hall of Fame member as well) that refurbished mine for its last owner. I had him show me the ropes. He said it is best not to crack one open unless there is bad rust somewhere and then the part just needs replaced. PW has their recommended grease for sale on their web page and a free downloadable users manual. Keep it covered when not in use (I use an old oversized pillow case) Be very methodical when you are first running it and getting the feel of it. If it is hard to pull the lever stop and look at everything because something is out of whack. No operation should require a man sized pull. I hope that helped and enjoy your machine.

@@LegendaryPlowboy ive just refurbish a size-o-matic 800B, bloody awesome unit, lube points are , the two columns, clean and use 3in1 on them , and all the places where there are bushings, the turret and rotation mechanism i separated, cleaned, and used a little marine grease on the detent balls and around the track it follows, as well as the timing cog, all other plungers and spring i used the 3in1 to just make them function smoothly , the unit runs smoothly and works just great, fastest shell loader I've used so far , for me at least,

I bought this machine from a dear friend of mine's widow. The price I paid is private but they can be found around $500 to $1000 USD

@@accessarymanBell Pan San may just be rocking a Lee Load All and is a little envious. Not knocking the Lee, I loaded a lot of shells on one when I was younger. These PW machines are Cadillacs by comparison.
