Pontiac 1960 Star Chief We go for a ride in this mild custom

I ran into Jeremy Lewis at a car show. I had forgotten how big these 1960 Pontiacs were.

My father owned one of these. They were sold in Australia as a Laurentian 4 door at the Holden dealers. They were assembled here in RHD form and sold as a 1963 model.

Way back in 1970 I answered an ad for a 1960 Pontiac. I liked it's smooth lines. When I saw the car it turned out to be a 1959. I didn't want a 1959.

My parents had a 1960 Star Chief Pontiac that was a two door. I never really appreciated what a great car it was until we finally replaced it with a 1978 Mecury Zephyr with a four cylinder pinto engine, a four speed manual transmission and many rack and pinion steering.

In Canada, the Pontiac was simular to the Chevy and wasn't a Pontiac.
