Could this happen to the tail lights? Because I know my fog lights he and other lights are supposedly working but I can’t seem to get my tail lights to work. Turn signals are fine and so are breaks but nothing auto turns on when you have the switch on auto.
@LarpMix3 ай бұрын
I'm sure there could be a connector issue, even those these cars are notorious for the headlights. Double check the bulbs in the tail lights first and any fuses that may go with them, I had Trans Am once, and I put in a bad bulb and it caused all kinds of electrical issues. If not, check the connector wires and you can splice in new ones if needed. Good luck.

@@LarpMixwell the bulbs are good. And fuses were good so I’ll check on the connector next thank you for the help.

Sorry, I never had an issue with mine yet. It's probably 1 piece though that comes out from underneath maybe. Try putting the seats down or looking in the truck for where the wire harness connects. Good luck with it.

You've given me a part number napa didn't have ended up cutting my harness wire and splicing it together and now its doing it again now I'll do it your way 👍
@LarpMix5 ай бұрын
I definitely wouldn't have bought this at NAPA, I think I bought this online somewhere, so the part number may not line up, also this video is quite old, so the number may have changed. Good luck with it and I hope it works, mine has still not given me any additional trouble after I fixed it in this vid. Unfortunately though, now my rockers are rusting into oblivion...

I bought a new connector from Parts Geek for a 2007 G6 and the bundle isn't going on. I'm pretty sure my wire connections I've twisted together solid. I know its not the bulb, I just bought a new one. Coming out of the car are 2 black wires and 1 yellow. The harness I bought online has a white wire and a black. So I wrapped the 2 black wires together and then connected it to my harness black, then connected the yellow to the harness white. Used some grease. Is it possible perhaps I should connect the 2 car blacks to the harness white and the car yellow to the harness black? I don't want to damage the car by hooking up the wrong wires. Thanks.
@LarpMix2 жыл бұрын
It shouldn't be that complicated. If you have the correct part it should just connect. 2007 is probably different from the 2009.5 I have in the video. Maybe someone else can chime in with some help.

I have literally the exact same year make and model I believe (2010 g6 gt) but my driver's side lights work but are all incredibly weak and dim to the point that when I put on the turn signal it alternates between blinking fast and slow. Is this the same issue? Would I have to do that trick for all three bulbs? I really need to get it fixed because the state patrol pulled me over and gave me a warning but I have to drive past where he sits on the way home from work every night. :c

@LarpMix3 жыл бұрын
I've never seen that, but I'd say either your front clip is pushed up somehow, or there is a piece bent or broke off your light. Try pulling both sides off for reference and see what is different... Good luck.

Hi great video and instruction. I've owned my 2007 G6 since it was new (13 years) and have Dicked around with those bulb sockets several times. I finally bought a ceramic one and that lasted the longest but then I started get moister inside the headlamp (probably from pulling it apart 10 times). For anyone reading this make sure the headlamp is sealed and that no moister is getting inside. I finally purchased new headlamps and haven't had any problems for 3 or 4 years. They only cost 59.99 each and it comes with all new bulbs and a new wiring harness. My point is if that socket is fried it's much less hassle to get a new headlamp and if you can afford it a pair, makes the car look really nice too with crystal clear headlamps.

This is a good video in that he covers the driver side. In the case of my Pontiac G6 the pin towards the back of the headlight assembly does NOT pop out readily. They have to be pinched before they will remove. This is my experience on my car. I had to get the lights changed so I ended up snapping the pins out of the assembly. I will end up repairing or replacing the assembly. But I just thought I would let G6 owners know that not all of those back pins are designed to pop out. Everything else in the video was valid.

If it's of a similar year, then it's probably the same or close to it. Give it a shot, but be careful not to break anything.

I am not sure, but since it is close in age range, I'd guess it's similar. Give it a try, but just be extra careful you don't break anything until you know for sure. Maybe try looking up some light assembly or front end assembly diagrams on google to see.

@LarpMix5 жыл бұрын
So it lasted over a year that way, but it started cutting out, so I did go back and just splice it in after that. I'd suggest if you're not comfortable with the wiring, try just plugging it in, see how long it lasts. If you're ok with splicing, I'd probably just do that the first time, that way you know it'll last!

I recently had to do this to both headlights on a 09 model. I chose to cut and replace. Only problem i have now my daytime running lights wont work. Not to big a deal but curious if u or anyone else had advice
@LarpMix5 жыл бұрын
I'll state a few simple things, you probably already considered, but. Is it the correct harness and was it wired properly, nothing connected to the wrong wire? The only other thing I could suggest is checking the bulbs and fuse in the fuse block. I know that's some simple advice, but sometimes I forget the simple stuff while chasing bigger things. If you figure out what caused it, let us know in case someone else has the issue. Good luck!
@dalemihocik47324 жыл бұрын
This is a temporary fix for sure . Buy a quality ceramic connector and splice it in for a repair that will outlast the car . When pulling the assembly out be sure to pull straight forward ,if you yank it around and break off the pin end you can cause the a moisture leak .

This should fix it. You can try the way I did with just piggybacking the new harness, if your old one is really bad though, cut and splice the wires, it's not very hard to do. Best of luck. These headlights on these cars are criminal, they should've been recalled.
