Hey Austin. Can I use my ac compressor from my 2.8 on my 3800 engine in my 87 GT
@franktedeschi53313 жыл бұрын
And I’m guessing since you didn’t use the solenoid you just leave the port open on the boost control valve on the bottom
@franktedeschi53313 жыл бұрын
Hey bro do you use the boost control solenoid or you do away with thatp
@franktedeschi53313 жыл бұрын
That was my thoughts exactly thank you so much for hitting me back. Since I have you going I was going to use the Fiero oil pressure sensor and send that back to the gauge and then get the three terminal water temperature sensor this way I could send it back to the computer and send it to the gauge did you do the same

People have gone either way. I chose to keep it because it can rob hp and fuel economy while at cruising speed and always having the supercharger running. People will delete it if they race their car, don't care about fuel economy or to give the engine a cleaner look.

I wanna see what it takes to bolt up the 99 Grand Prix 3800 to the was 2.5 litre 5 speed transimission
@LostNotForgotton7 жыл бұрын
Terry La Tunguley Thanks for checking out my videos. The 5 speed transmission from the 4 cyl Fiero would not be good transmission to use for the 3800 swap. That transmission can't handle the torque from a 3800. In fact that transmission can't even handle the torque of the 2.8 engine. That is why the 85 and 86 Fieros got a 4 speed transmission until they designed a 5 speed that would work for the 87 and 88 Fieros. To keep your car a 5 speed you will need to get either a Getrag transmission from an 87 or 88 Fiero or an F23 (which is an even stronger version of the Getrag) or an F40 which is a 6 speed. All will need a custom made flywheel and clutch. The F23 and F40 will need custom brackets and shift cables. Let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck ;)

LostNotForgotton Yes way more questions,. My car is 1987 just the 4 cylinder, and what of the 1999 automatic transmission from the grand prix GTP , would that be an option for a transmission
@LostNotForgotton7 жыл бұрын
Terry La Tunguley Why don't you shoot me an email with your questions and I'll try and answer them for ya the best I can. My email is LostNotForgotton@Yahoo.com Typically the automatic trans is a cheaper and easier way to go because the cause of a custom flywheel alone can be $400-$600 plus the cost of brackets, cables and even the transmission itself if you don't have one. Converting a manual car to an auto is a little extra work and cost so it's up to you on if it's worth it. The 4t65e-HD automatic transmission can be picked up from a salvage yard for $350-$500 if you don't get one included with your engine.

LostNotForgotton I bought the entire Grand Prix running and moving with a freshly replaced trans for $200 with blown head gaskets. No signs of oil in coolant and and vice a versa. Clean engine oil and coolant. I'll shoot you email

Terry La Tunguley Yes the 99 GTP transmission is a perfect option. The 99 GTP engine and transmission is the best year to use in my opinion. Owning a 4 cyl Fiero doesn't impact you too much for the conversion. Off the top of my head you may need the v6 fuel sending unit and fuel lines because if I remember correctly the 4 cyl fuel lines are routed in a different location. If you want someone to build you a wiring harness you will need the V6 harness as well as the 3800 harness but if you use Injection Technology's wiring harness then they send you a new harness (no donor harness needed). I'd have to think harder of there were any other parts needed from a v6 Fiero.

I hooked my vacuum lines up to the vacuum tree the same way that you did, but I'm wondering about what you said about hooking two vacuum lines to the evaporator...? I thought the top evaporator vacuum hose goes to the tree or the one on the other side of the throttle body, and the bottom evap. hose just hangs free from the evaporator, to bleed off the fumes. You said that you hook them both to a vacuum port...so I'm confused on this item...?

Derrick Webster ME too. I have one more video on hooking up exhaust and plugging the engine into the car for a quick test start. I hope to post that in the next week or two and then I'm currently filming the final hookups and running the car. That is a bit slower process so it will be a little longer wait for that video. I can tell you everything I've done with videos so far has led to the car actually running. Super excited to finish it up.

I've been waiting to get my project started. I have an 84 fiero SE and 3800sc ll. Fierorog brackets, sway bars, aluminum and poly bushings. Pretty much following your build part by part. I'm actually looking to sale my jeep to buy an 88 fiero coupe. I my change it up a bit lol... Also, do you have an extra supercharger idler pulley/dog bone bracket? I got my engine from a Bonnie ssei. It's not set up right. Con not find the bracket anywhere fiero forms, junk yards, and used parts suppliers. So if we can make a deal somehow would help out a lot? Thanks.

Derrick Webster That's awesome. I'm glad that you are able to follow along and start collecting parts. I hope you can find an 88 coupe but if not I have a video on upgrading the suspension for an 84-87 car and after my 3800 swap I'm going to do a video on upgrading the brakes to a C5 Corvette. I do have an extra idler/dog bone bracket laying around. If you want it how about $40 shipped to your door or for $50 shipped I can cut the dog bone off first. I have to buy a new saw blade which is the only reason is charge more. If your interest you can email me at LostNotForgotton@Yahoo.com. Dont forget you will also need the GTP/Regal oil filter adapter too. The Boneville doesn't have the right adapter. Unfortunately I don't have any extra of those to offer.

I'll have to see if I have the extra funds this coming week. My wife goes all out for Christmas 😅 lol... Carparts.com has the oil filter adapter and west cost sells them new for $100 I think. If so I'll probably have to take the one for $40. I'm a diesel mechanic for Travel Centers of America, I'll have my machinist cut it for me 😁. I'll send a message to your email, when I get paid Wednesday. What's the best way to send payment? Would money order be good? I'll send first.

LostNotForgotton I have a 1" front sway bar never used! They are $180 I think, from the fiero store. Sense I'm dead set on a 88 build, I won't need it for my 84. If you want we could trade. My sway bar for your bracket dog bone cut off plus $100. I'll take a $30 hit, but it seams I'll never find one around here. All my scrap yards pulls the engines and scraps the brackets because I'm the only person in my area looking for one lol... if you could find it in your budget it would be great. If not I'll send you the $40 Wednesday. Thanks again.

hello friend I see your videos and I wanted to ask if you could help me I have a pontiac grand prix 3.8 series 2 and I installed a supercharged my question is to do the conversion the car computer I have to change it or with which I had is enough and if also by please you could pass me the diagrams of vacuum hoses because it is spending some fuel and the spark plugs are black when removing them and they tell me that it is by the voids if you can help me thank you very much greetings

Suggestion: It's hard for me to follow your questions, because you left out punctuation (periods and commas.) Put them in and it will be easier for him to answer your questions.
