The problem was the O ring installation!! Yep the O ring should be sliding under the PCV and we had it on top of the PCV. Also bad cat converter added to the problem. After installing the PCV with the O-ring correctly it idled great. Thanks

Cool now I know what the problem is on my car as well I have the same engine in it and it is doing the same problem as shown here

Definitely a pcv problem

Currently have this same exact issue after replacing my intake manifold and intake manifold gaskets. Replaced BOTH the pcv valve and map sensor and no luck.

Me too, did you ever figure it out?
@officialovercoming5 жыл бұрын
@@strtlghts5555 yes I did, the idiot mechanic that worked on it forgot to place a bolt inside the lower intake manifold when he reinstalled it. I opened the engine up. Had oil inside the upper intake (plenum). Took the upper intake off. Looked inside the lower intake. There were 12 bolts securing the lower intake manifold. 10 on the outside two on the inside of it. Of the two bolts that go inside, one was missing which caused the vacuum and oil to leak into the upper intake. When you have a vacuum this strong and it's not the pcv valve it's more than likely a lower intake issue. Either the lower intake is cracked or the gaskets are blown out.

@@officialovercoming Thank you for the reply, I just went in to replace the upper and lower gaskets a week ago, and tried to resolve the issue with new PCV valve. I was very good to replace every bolt. Welp, looks like it's coming off again! I'll reply again when I do for the sake of people looking for info in the future.

I'm having this problem, Dodge ram. No one can figure it out. Ive had 3 mechanics look at it....1 yard tree mechanic, firestone and the dealer. The dealer charged me $509 for a diagnostic and a tune up, had it 13 days I've got $800 total in it, and I broke down again this morning. It'll go about 20/25 miles, running perfect, then it'll miss and in about 1/4 mile, it sounds like that one. Any ideas anyone? Changed plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, button, didnthat twice actually, ran injector cleaner and reset the computer. It's been a month. It's my everyday worker.

My issue ended up being that the upper intake manifold gasket had a piece not punched out that should have been! Pressure built up in the crank case immediately at startup! Punched the hole out and she breathes perfectly!

So this one, he put the PVC gasket in wrong, but if the PVC failed, is this also the symptons? Because I have been trying to figure mine out over a month, and it does what the one in the video is doing ,except we haven't messed with it yet. Mine is fine when u start it, as I drive it ends up sounding like this one.

Removal of the oil filler cap at idle SHOULD give this result if the PCV valve is working correctly. Reason for the rough idle is unmetered air is getting into the intake.

Wrong it’s indication that it’s bad as soon as I changed mine had a leak was sucking air this symptom went away..

@@boosted0079 no it isn’t idiot your just Babbling away like every other attention starved weirdo online and have zero experience diagnosing or working on these motors I’ve owned 3 of them and have tore the engines down and fixed all kinds of issues about to do head gaskets on one, when the pcv valve goes bad or on the non supercharged versions the plastic pcv holder cracks and leaks it causes suction through the oil cap and the car runs like shit, when you fix it the suction goes away it’s not up for debate regardless of your fragile attempts of attention. There’s many videos and hundreds of articles and statements online on forums and all of them will agree with me and none with you. And it just shows what a bum you are not having any real mechanical experience but wanna boost your ego talking shit online because you got your “info” from a bad Google article and now your trying argue with professionals.

3800s have a tendency to leak where the fuel line meets the fuel rail, so check that. Also make sure the lines coming from the tank aren't leaky.
