Pontiac Header Installation, Doug's D569 into 1st gen Firebird

This is an overview of installing Doug's D569 headers on a Pontiac V-8, in a 1968 Firebird convertible.
I have seen many people on the internet proclaiming how difficult it is, to install headers on a Pontiac. I was a bit surprised when I realized that, even with taking time to take video and explain some items, I spent about 45 minutes installing both headers!
This video contains tips and techniques I use when performing this task.
Header bolts I use in video: ARP 400-1109
Header gaskets I use: FelPro 1424

Last time I did headers on a Pontiac it took me two days on the gravel driveway. Most of the time was spent trying to get the old ones out that had rusted in place despite everything being coated in oil from the valve covers and rear seal. There’s a lot to be said for a clean shop with a concrete floor and a lift, plus the prep work on a clean engine and chassis is priceless. Some excellent tips and Doug’s Headers generally fit well.

Thank you! And yes, it took me a few decades to get to where I am - shop, lift, power-washer to clean things BEFORE working on it, and experience :-)

Dougs looks like a quality product. How easy it seems with enough room for a ratcheting wrench. Beautiful car by the way.

I rather enjoy watching krinkle-coat paint as it dries! Yeah, I need to go back and add some text, make it easier to FFWD through the blah spots. Mainly wanted to show the "Pontiac headers take DAYS to install" people that it doesn't always take very long, if everything is properly prepared.
