The video was awesome, well thought out and edited and the narration was spot on. Well done. I used this vid to do mine (2007 vibe, 102k ) Is was simple and straight forward just like shown in the video. CUDOS. It was easier than I thought. If you opted to leave your throttle body on the vehicle remember to always disconnect the battery otherwise you will render your throttle body useless. a new one is up to $ 850

Omg. I just replaced the plugs and cleaned the throttle body and wow. It runs like it did when I 1st purchased the car. I’m at 155k miles. Original plugs. What a great car.

Mass airflow spray cleaner
@mikemccarthy54374 жыл бұрын
Use mass airflow spray for the mass airflow sensor. Use throttle body spray for throttle body. Some other videos use brake cleaner but I'm not sure if that's safe to do, especially if you're gonna be spraying it into your engine.

I'm about to clean the throttle body and replace the intake manifold gasket on my 2006 vibe. It only has 40,000 miles but it idles kind of rough and shakes when in gear at a stand still. I think im also going to replace the valve cover gasket/s because I noticed a little bit of oil residue on the motor above the intake. I'm guessing that's seepage from the valve cover? Is there any gaskets that should be replaced for the throttle body. It looks like there's a rubber oring in there on the throttle body in your video. Is that replaceable? Would you recommend replacing it if it is?

And what was the green liquid coming out when you disconnected the hoses?
@suddykloober34266 жыл бұрын
It was engine coolant. Specifically of the ethylene glycol variety. This confuses Vibe owners when they see this in videos sometimes because the GM version of this car (of rhe Matrix) comes from the factory with orange Dex-Cool (which is standard in GM cars). The owner of this vibe drained and flushed the cooling system of his Vibe and replaced the coolant with refular Ethylene Glycol Anti-Freeze. You should never mix Dex-Cool with any other coolant aa it gels and throws a code relating to poor coolant flow which can result in engine damage. If you plan to do that project conpletely flush that entire system and be damn sure before refilling it.

@iank39732 жыл бұрын
As mentioned, it IS the very engine. The Pontiac Vibe and Toyota Matrix were ‘sister’ cars produced in a joint project between GM and Toyota. They came out of the NUMMI (New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc.) plant in Fremont, CA. The plant opened in 1984 and and I believe it closed around the demise of Pontiac in 2010.
