It was a heating and ventilation unit on the wall that had been boxed in not the ceiling. Following the recent incident at Brean Sands, we take the health and safety of all our guests and staff extremely seriously. The company is deeply shocked that any guest has suffered an injury caused by any accident. We are of course fully assisting with the current enquiries and thank the local emergency services and all our amazing staff on the holiday park, for their fast response and empathy throughout this time. - PONTINS At least six guests were taken to hospital following the incident, while a further 18 were treated for minor injuries at the scene. Wendy Jones, who was holidaying with her daughter Hayley, was among those taken to hospital.  Wendy Jones in hospital. She suffered a crushed leg and a suspected broken hip when debris fell on her. Sedgemoor District Council has confirmed it will be looking into the incident as the local authority. Sedgemooor District Council are the enforcement and investigating authority for this premises and have opened a health and safety investigation. A heating and air con duct which had been boxed in and attached to the wall gave way. The ceiling has not collapsed. The investigation is likely to be complex and run for several months. Me and my family where gonna go when that happens but we went to sandy glad which is just down the road from pontins and when the accident happened,we saw the fire engines and ambulances go past

Where is all the money this place makes spent ??? The accommodation is ancient and dirty the site is generally a dump

It’s 80s standards of accommodation and entertainment..... and by the looks of things, it’s not the most hygienic of places 😐

It's terrible It's a hit or miss. You could get a nice, clean room or a dirty accomodation. No in between

It's a filthy dump of a place. The managers pay themselves big pay packages whilst the site is stuck in the 50s and most of the accommodation is crumbling whilst they do cheap patch up jobs.

Its a shithole dont go. Ceiling fell down whilst we were there. Rooms are filthy and damp, foods disgusting, pool wasnt even in use!Needs shutting down

@@CezBoh ^^ true, it’s hit or miss with brean sands tbh, some people have a great time and lovely accommodation, some people have an awful time and their accommodation is filthy. I used to go as a child and personally never had a bad experience, but I guess I just had good luck
