Pontoon Boat Ride on the Crystal River

While staying at the Crystal Isle RV Resort we reserved the pontoon boat for a day and was able to take it out for about 4 hours for an enjoyable afternoon out on the Crystal River and into Kings Bay where we stopped and had lunch at Crackers, then rode over to see some of the local springs. This was a wonderful day with perfect springtime weather, blue skies, clear water, a nice seafood lunch and enjoying some of what the locals get to call home. We didn't have enough time in the day to ride out to shell island and see the Gulf, maybe on the next trip.

My kind of folks. I would love to take my pontoon boat to Florida. I haven’t been there since I was a kid so I wouldn’t know where to even start to plan a trip like this. I’m a terrible vacationer. Lol 😆 I’m 52yo and I’ve only taken a few vacations in my whole adult life. Lol 😆

Same age here, have had guided trips in Kings Bay and the Gulf fishing. It’s a maze unless you know where you’re going it seems and tides have a role in it as well. Definitely do your homework for navigation but it’s a awesome place.

@@chloesamclutch Would that be a good place for me to take my Tritoon? I think Florida is between 10 & 12 hours drive for me and that’s a long way to drag a boat but I think that will be fine. I would like to find a place where we can take advantage of Florida’s beautiful clear salt-water without battling rough water conditions. I even bought the Salt-water package for my boat for trips like this. 😊 I know there’s a million places like this in FL but it’s hard to know these things when ya don’t have any local help 😞 I’ve heard of Kings Bay so I will definitely look it up. Hey! I would even be bold enough to go to one of the bog crazy spots like Haulover inlet or Boca inlet if I had a local to keep me out of danger. I know Haulover sandbar is being dredged right now so that may not be a good idea but there’s Beer-Can Island 😂 I hear that’s a beautiful place and mild water

Love the video, I've gone up there a bunch of times in the summer months. We rent a pontoon and go scalloping, and usually rent an Airbnb on the water and kayak to 3 Sisters Springs.

Great area. my first girlfriend in HS was from Crystal River, went to old Dunnellon HS and lived in Ocala. Great fishing area near the boat docks and fish market. Enjoy!

Where you guys passed the poles at the park, I shot videos of the manatees last December standing on that platform. Staff there at 3 sisters is very knowledgeable, we saw hundreds of manatee in the area just back from there. Going to the park is a must see in this area during peak manatee weather! I will definitely check out Crackers and that downtown St. John’s Tavern next time
