This was great Tom and kind of a coincidence, I fear I'm gonna run out of time to do my refurb because I've decided to find a 20 ft boat instead of the 18 I have, I have my eye on this same boat although a 2001 and 20ft, otherwise looks identical, I also like this one because it has the nice fat pontoons, everything I bought will fit nicely on a larger boat, if I do end up with the Bennington hopefully I luck out on those bolts attaching the floor like you did! Good luck, hoping for extended warm weather!

I do think that 20' is the ideal size pontoon boat, especially at 8.5' wide. It'll be worth it when you get the ideal boat for your project. Definitely don't settle when it comes to the bones of the boat. Get what you want the first time!

Oh yeah! You can do a tear down the right way or do it the wrong way and increase your frustration level later cuz that’s always good for poops and giggles.

We've done it all and have figured out a system that allows us to tear a boat down in a few hours with a few people. At least in one work day with two people working on it. And getting it apart so that it goes back together without any hang ups or headaches!

Is there a trick to getting the arm off of a captain's chair? I ordered one from Varanda, but can't figure out how to remove the swivel armrest.

I have never tried to get one off before. You’d probably have to contact the manufacturer.
