Great video as always! I 100% agree on the corner seat at the console. With my restoration i got the lean back not knowing any better and it sucks with it not fully opening. You end up having to use it for things you don't need often. I'm sure I've said it before but thank y'all for sharing all you do! Y'all made my restoration go so much smoother with these videos!

The leanback is nice looking as an endcap, but takes up seat space for someone to sit on, and if you can't get at the storage fully you lose one of its best features. Glad the videos helped with your project!!

Had the hardest time finding any of the old/existing holes when I put my new deck on. I just redid with self tapers so probably looks like swiss cheese now 😂. Just finished mine, was crazy but your videos help give me confidence to do it. Great videos, keep them comin!

That's the best compliment we can ever get, knowing our videos are giving folks confidence to tackle their own projects at home! We rarely reuse the same holes for deck bolts unless it's a Crest style U channel crossmember.

Tom love this shish! Bravo man.... Everything turns out great! Though you looked a bit tired bro. Be sure to eat and drink quality foods and water! We still want to see a full kitchen or BBQ area done on one of these big boys. I've got a 26 footer and its massive. We do BBQ on it and its amazing. Hotdogs, burgers, chicken and kabobs all summer! Love the channel!

Thanks so much for the kind words! And yes, at this point in the season I'm beyond tired...working 6-7 days a week and feeling like I can never catch up. We finally got there though before the holiday, so super happy to get the shop cleaned up and prepare for the next projects coming in! I hope we get to do something like a bar/grilling station someday on a boat. It's hard to source the nice fancy pontoon bartop setups, but I'm thinking I could build one on an aluminum frame with inset grill and more. Love the idea!

Love it 🎉 nice work turned out great. I have a 28’ toons and frame with a 24’ deck. That 21’ rail kit is perfect. Exactly how I am gonna finish mine off. Thanks for sharing.

Ive looked through most of your videos and you do great work. The one thing I haven't seen is, a modern upgrade to an old toon. Digital displays, swooping fronts, fiberglass sides or big towing towers. Is any of this possible?
@tomspontoons
@tomspontoons 5 ай бұрын
Thanks for the kind words. It's incredibly difficult to find that sort of fiberglass modern railing...nothing aftermarket for options and I haven't seen it as an over-stock or blemished item for sale anywhere. I would love to do something with a nice display screen with all gauges and such tied in. Just haven't had the request to work that into a project for a customer. I do plan to build a water sports tritoon next season with a full wakeboard tower and more...stay tuned!

Beautiful job bringing that boat back to life! Appreciate you taking the extra time to thoroughly share your hard earned experiences and knowledge on all your builds. Especially pointing out that reinforcement on the motor pod to the frame was brilliant and simple way to beef it up. Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for tuning in and for the kind words! I'm just trying to put out ALL the information possible that anyone could ever need about pontoon boats and restoring them. Tons left to cover so I don't plan on stopping with content anytime soon!

Another great video! At my end my houseboat build has started and it’s all your fault 🤪 My 24 ft. Smokercraft Infinity is being delivered tonight. I’m starting tomorrow on the seats, railing, carpet, and plywood. Vinyl and marine ply are on order as is a 2024 Mercury Seapro long shaft motor with hydraulic steering, power tilt, new gauges, etc, etc, etc. The cabin structure I’ve farmed out to a local fabricator and I’ll build cabinetry and finish the interior. Windows and door are salvaged from an RV(s) Unfortunately I’ve struck out with a center toon up here in the Great White North so I’m thinking I’m may come visit you for that. We’ll talk sometime this winter if you’re amicable to working on a 🇨🇦 boat. Thanks for the inspiration!!

That's exciting!!! Glad you've got everything sorted out and ready to come together. What HP motor did you go with? I don't have any center toons around right now, but I can certainly get you in touch with the guys who I get them from or help facilitate getting you one!

Really nice! Im having trouble deciding on my railing and then seat options. My deck length is 22'8" x 8'6" wide My old railing went all the way back and all the way on both sides and i had about 18" in the front open. So if i went with the 21' stern kit does that length include the sun deck(back edge)? I feel the 18' kit would be too much in the front and back of open space. I would like to have a little space in the back though(outside of railing).

Thanks for tuning in! I would suggest the 21' kit for that size boat. Worst case you can omit a panel to give more space on the front and the back to accommodate your use. I find that 18" on the front is just enough to get on and off if need be, but not a big comfortable front deck space. If you reduce that to 12" to 14" it'll give even more space for entry and exit on the stern. New pontoons and tritoons today have figured out that most people are using the stern for water sports, swimming, etc. and that the front door is mostly just used when beaching to get in and out....so a front deck isn't necessary. For that reason they've shoved the railings forward all the way and opened the stern up to make that space safer and more comfortable.

@@tomspontoonsagree My goal in the back was to create just enough room to add a tow bar for tubing and just enough to walk on if needed. Thanks for responding
@tomspontoons
@tomspontoons 2 ай бұрын
@@Rferg2470 I'd suggest leaving more room than you think for the stern. If you plan to use it for tubing and entering the boat from the swim ladder it's very nice to have enough space for a couple people out there comfortably! Our rule was "no coming inside the boat until you've got a towel around you and you're drying off. So it was nice to have the kids safely out on the back for that!

How much for that restore ?

Most of our projects that get new everything (floor, rails, seats, electrical, etc.) are in the $14k to $22k range. There are so many variables that the price range can vary a ton.
