Great video. I fetched my 2nd hand S400 Classic in .177 yesterday and been putting it thru its paces up to 25 yards today. I'm no marksman but it puts every pellet where you aim it! I like your rest that you shoot from, might look at getting one of those. Unbeatable value for money in my opinion and a beautiful rifle in walnut also.

Any chance you could help me make a decision? Looking to get into pcp after years of spring piston hunting with my hw80k, hw97kt and BSA supersport all tuned to the max, I'm fully decided on the air arms but I can't decide whether to go for the s410 or the s400, I feel like the single shot will be slightly more accurate without the magazine but I don't know

It's surprising how well some of these older pcps perform. I've got an old titan mc010 that still keeps up with anything modern. Grouping wise its neck and neck with my mates fx streamline. I bought mine 25 years ago for £120! Money well spent!

Can't beat the Air Arms S400 Platform. I use an Mpr-Ft for everything including h.f.t It's about 12 years old but doesn't miss a beat. Bought a S400f Carbine in .177 recently too and again a tack driver. One thing I'd say though, learn the sweet spot in fill pressure for maximum consistency, mines from 155 bar down to 120 bar on the Mpr but every rifle maybe different. No point filling to 190 bar and starting to shoot as the power only increases from there to around 155 bar when it's at max power and hammer/valve spring are equal matched under pressure.

i own the AAs400 (.177() and AAs200,(.22) i love both, they are really well made and accurate; but the fx impact gives you more accuracy on the long shooting (200- 300 meters) using the .30 barrel and if you are a good PCP shooter, where a .177 or .22 can't reach.

hey OXAN yes all of the AA i have tried so far have always bin very accurate and reliable guns my sub 12 fx impact x MK1 is the best sub 12 i have shot at long distance 60 80 100 yards it must be the smooth twist i really do like the rifle i just bought a vulcan 2 and i am very impressed with it so far very accurate i am waiting for the weather to break to see what it can really do thank you very much for watching and taking your time to comment all the best P.P.PC

Nice.. Wasn't hard to watch. I found your channel through your instagram account..subbed and followed on both (pearsonkev77) I have a titan manitou 177 a 27 year old pre falcon-air arms weapon.. (John bowkett made) with a hawke eclipse 4-16x50 mildot ir ao scope. This gun is amazing for its age and still performs well with 5p groups at 45 yards.. I can't zero further than that atm due to space or lack of it. Joining a club next weekend all being well even though I have 30 years experience I haven't been a member of a club for twenty years or so..

What's with testing against a blank piece of paper? The first shot is aimed at the middle more or less and the rest are aimed at the hole the group is making. Of course, the hole changes size and exact location as subsequent shots are fired so you never get an actual group size with a single aiming point, the bullseye, instead you get this floating nebulous point of aim and expanding groups.

this is how all my group tests are preformed now the gun is not indoors in a vice and set up professionally and also tested on different air pressures to find its best air pressure for accuracy and so on this is a video put together for the viewers to see what you really get for you money rather than a look over the gun talk in posh words for 15 mins the show you a group at 20 yards or less to make gun sales like mostly all the reviews you will see today i am completely honest and the results show for them selfs all my rifles are also sub 12 as i do not have a FAC and i am in the U.K now if i was interested in a s4oo and i just seen this review i would be happy seeing how the rifle preforms out at ranges also in the wind but i always get someone picking into petty little things i put 1000s upon 1000s of hours into making these videos and dont receive a penny i do it for the love of shooting i do it to make new friends to talk to even meet up and shoot with the videos are made to show you the truth about things and not to make sales and also for the enjoyment of all that support me this way of group testing works for me i have won so many titles and so on been picked to shoot for wales and the air arms team the list goes on but im not here to brag if you aint happy with 5p groups or the way they was preformed i am sorry but i would like to thank you for watching my video and also for taking your time to comment it does mean a lot to me having peoples thoughts ect hope to catch you on the next one all the best P.P.P.C

@@stevenpurcell4292 and theres only one reason why people use bullet or fac they can not shoot sub 12 i have videos of rabbits being shot at 70/83 yards all sub 12 and using the same group test i shown you i could go in to it a lot more pellet choice, ,pellet dias, temp, wind, pellet size, best fps for tighter groups, best pressure for sweet spot of the rifle, and so on the video was made to show what the gun can do and yes if shot your way and in a vice and so on it could be better but this is out the box and how anyone would shoot the rifle i am in no way being funny your comment however come across blunt and a bit funny but look no hard feelings mate and if you ever fancy a day or night out even some practice let me no we can meet up and i will show you this way and also show you it in action and that i am a shooter not a editing master class lol

The best S400's to buy are the older models. The newer models are nowhere near the level of 'quality' of the older ones and are just better made. If you want a better rifle for the price I'd say pick up an MK3 S200. They use the same barrel as the earlier models of the EV2, although unregulated, they're still very accurate and can be regulated. If you're going to review another rifle i'd say review a HW100. If you purchase a new one, from my experience, they seem to run at a lower FPS. Ideally you want a HW100 running at around 780/90 to get the best grouping out of the rifle, so it MIGHT be best to go to someone who'd be willing to take it apart, and ramp it up possibly. They're very good out the box but with some additional tweaking they're probably a tier below a Steyr or an Anschutz. They take more wind between the ranges of 40-45 yards by half a mil-dot, but in more extreme windier conditions will 'struggle' as their barrel is spun differently to say a Steyr barrel (not taking about the barley twist barrel). by struggle I mean it'll take a hell of a lot more wind and be affected more so by oncoming wind, and wind coming from behind. P.S: The AirArms MPR is not very different from the S400. I've shot one in a HFT setting and when I was with team GB's target sprint. they're balanced similarly in terms of weight distribution and have the same receiver. Honestly they're same as a S400.

Just bought myself an S-400 , So plan on visiting the range a lot more ... The old HW-80 in .22 cal ive got although a great rifle , Is just a bit to cumbersome and wrong cal really to be really effective .

@@Gw0wvl depends what you are looking to do with it .22 is a very good cal to hunt and is effective also at long ranges if set up is good if you are looking to join the club ect i could meet you over there if that helps

Is this a UK emasculated 12fpe test. If so it should be so stated at the beginning of the video. Yes Ferraris twest well against crap cars when you take away their horsepower. FX should not be sold in the UK as long as anyone is waiting for a testicles on version anywhere in the world.

yes this is the sub 12 ftlb version i dont have FAC license so the fx impact x was also sub 12 the groups are shot to the best of my ability i dont no what you mean by the fx should not be sold in the U.K the impact x as a lot going for it and even shooting at long ranges 80 plus yards all the best P.P.P.C

@@micksoper4059 everyone points there finger at something mate example my videos most love the talk overs some want silence some want me in the screen others don't and so on no matter how good you do in life someone will always point out 1 bad thing not the 1000 good i love the fx big shot count off a fill 21 shots or 37 very accurate and quiet there are guns out there a lot cheaper that can hold tight groups to not knocking the fx as I love mine i hope to see you on many more videos to come 😊

In the end of the day they all push a pellet down the barrel with a squirt of air. It's the barrel that counts. Rubbish barrel, rubbish accuracy.

There is more to a gun and its accuracy than just the barrel. Consistency of delivery of air is just as important if not more so. My S400 at its sweet range delivers consistency just as well as my Huntsman Regal XL and not that far off my HW 100, that is less than 5ft/s spread. Try a gun with 15~20 ft/s spread with a match barrel and find out for yourself if it shoots accurately or not.
