I hadn't heard that he had passed. We were in the same class in school and spent every spare minute in Rainbow records. Infamously his mum arranged a surprise party for I think his 15th or 16th Birthday. While we were all up at his house in Maesycoed he was at the cinema. You would have though someone would have invited him lol.

Yes, it's a great shame. I hadn't seen him since the early 90s, but had many happy hours with him in the early 80s. Jason Henly is quite long gone now too (he lived across the road from Richard, few years younger). Steve Holmes -one of Richard's closest friends, went to Cardinal Newman - is well though, does some of the music for this channel (the guitar stuff).
