For the pony rides I work for we don't even put a kid heavier than 90 lbs on the ponies (they are shetlands and hackneys) . Mini's can carry (safely) about 50 lbs. It is not good for that lady's pony to stand on his back. But mini's can pull alot.

Thanks, for you comments, it takes time and lots of repetition to train a horse, and with the aid of a clicker and lots of treats, it's even easier. Hope your training is progressing. Susan

Notice I'm standing on his rump not his back, mini's are stronger that people give them credit. A very fit mini with strong hindquarters form jumping and pulling a cart. I think that if he was in anyway distressed, he would just move, as I'm not forcing him to stand there while I crack the whip. Take care all, thanks for all your lovely comments! :)
