Also, funny thing that you mentioned the time when that reading was originally released because back in August 2013 that was actually the time when my OC, Harmonight, was first developed and one of his head canons was having a heart for Luna and one day (or this case night) dreams about being her personal protector of the Night and her.

I feel like the beginning somewhat describes the feelings that the brony community feels towards Luna. Some just see her as a princess. Others see her as Nightmare Moon, an evil, demonic creature that should pay for her sins that she had shown Equestria in the past. Yet some, like me and the guard, see her as somepony who doesn't want to be shown resent, hatred, or even fear. Just love. A mare who just wants to have somepony who won't judge her based on her past decisions or actions. Somepony who would sit beside her on a hill, gaze up at the beautiful night sky she had created, and tell her that no amount of adjustment to it could ever compare, or even come close, to matching her sheer beauty. On the outside, her heart may look like a chunk of stone, but on the inside, is a pony who just wants a friend.

This was just… beautiful because of how such a tragedy could have people realize their love for someone that has died for them, they may have passed but you could always remember that person and love them even if they have passed. So love the people that you love and say your love to that one significant other before you or someone else you love pass on, before tragedy strikes and causes one of them pain or to yourself.
