So Nightmare Moon basically conquered Equestria. Felt guilty about it. Used Discord to travel back in time. Confronted past Luna before she revolted. Killed past Luna. Took her place to be trapped in the moon and thus preventing the future she came from. And since then she's been posing as her past self this whole time. Interesting.

I'm always flattered (shocked, alarmed...) when people invest effort into remixing and respinning my aged prose. All the actors did an amazing job! The narration was suitably serious and tense, Discord was annoying and cheeky. The mental states of Nightmare Moon and Luna were well-portrayed: disheartening without being melodramatic. Good Job. I can't say I ever love time travel in stories (I believe it ALWAYS causes problems. If you can change the past, what's the point of the story in the first place. Creating a multiverse doesn't help (As in this story) because then you didn't change anything at all, just switched timelines), but it was a good story nonetheless. The one suggestion I might have is to make the final scene with discord be the current discord instead of the other one, because as is, it doesn't add anything, and it would be interesting if this discord knew (It would make some sense for the god of chaos to know what he did elsewhere) and wasn't saying anything.

@@bookwyrm539 Thanks! That's an interesting idea. Would definitely have offered the reader a good twist. The "current" Discord does have more of an impact in the sequel stories. And it *is* stated that he knew the situation before anyone else, but declined to mention it. The "other" Discord doesn't show up again. Perhaps his unimportance is a bit of a minor twist. In that context, ending this story on him sets up a little more for the reader. But this story was also written before any of its sequels were done. And I didn't want to change them so severely after the fact.

Okay, WOW. That did not go at all how I anticipated. The narrator was not a voice I expected, though definitely fit well. Took a bit to figure out this Nightmare Moon is NOT the one from the Nightmareverse in season 5, but a version of Nightmare who succeeded in her original attempt to take over Equestria. The mention of her wanting Time Travel also making it tricky to figure this was not Nightmareverse Nightmare Moon. It wasn't until the bit about Celestia's death that it started to click, as Nightmareverse Nightmare Moon made it quite clear Celestia was trapped in the moon, not dead. Quite haunting, though, Luna coming to properly within and as Nightmare after ruling for over a thousand years and understanding her foly all those centuries ago... not to mention her ending the life of her past self prior to her fall to the Nightmare. I have to wonder, as that Luna came to understand her Time was over... did she too see the error of her ways... or did she perish internally cursing the version of herself that ended her?
