Thank you so very much for all of your knowledge that you have given for free! I spent about three hours with a note book going through your videos and seriously just can’t thank you enough. I wish all of this was mandatory to learn in school and you were the teacher haha. I learned more from you than I have in 30 years. Thank you so so so so much! I feel way more equipped to troubleshoot, the perspective and way of thinking about gardening you share really helped break down some huge obstacles holding me back. How I went so long knowing nothing about soil I don’t even know! Thank you!!!!!!

I have one of these. It has been in the same pot for decades now. It is a neglected plant in our household but still has managed to survive 🤣. It is in the open so it gets both sun, rain and the cold dry wintery winds.

My ponytail palm is suffering really bad and I believe it is b/c I put it through shock. I thought it was rootbound and when I think about it now, it wasn't. So I chose to change it to leca and at first it was doing well. A few roots grew in nicely and then it went downhill. so I decided to go back to soil and I added charcoal at the bottom and then I saw mealybugs. I still have it and I am treating it for the pest. I believe that it has a chance to grow back come the spring. It needs time to heal and grow some new roots. Thanks for the video.

You can watch this video which also works on root mealybugs. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3qXoWiKbtNpiNk

GARDEN TIPS thank you for the link. I already did what it said in the video and now let’s see what happens. I believe the plant will make a comeback. It’s from my son for Xmas so it’s an extra special plant to me.

Pleasant greetings. I have an Elephant foot plant for over 25 years now. I grows outside and is now well over 7 feet in height. Recently we have had quite a bit of rain and I noticed the middle section of leaves fell out. Does this mean my plant is dying? Is there any thing I can do to save it. I live in Jamaica.

Great advice :) I have a question. Today I was gifted a 2m tall ponytail palm. The old owners watered it once per week, as an indoor plant. Is that maybe too often? What do you recommend? The new leaves are very bright green, not the normal darker shade of green. What causes this?
@GardenTips3 жыл бұрын
Once in a week is fine. Better use the finger dip method before watering to be on the safer side. 👍

I just acquired a beautiful ponytail palm. It seems it’s in almost all peat. Since it’s December, is it safe to transfer it out and put in a better soil mix? Or leave it alone till Spring?
@GardenTips3 жыл бұрын
Depends on the temperature of the zone you live. Better not disurb it for some days and keep a watch on it. Later just before spring you can transfer.

@@GardenTips You’re right. I better not. I’m in Texas and we just had our first freeze. But my plant is indoors... hmmm. I think it’ll be best to wait for Spring anyway. :)
