Sometimes overwatering is the reason. Secondly, if that part was hit badly during repotting. Soil must have some gravels in it otherwise fine soil may cause rotten-like conditions. Previous cuts and over-moisture may have caused this situation. Avoid damp and shady area cause it needs direct sunlight. Hopefully it works...
