Goes to show how much of a mistake it was in my opinion for them to end g4 so quickly. I mean at least in the way they did. There's just still so many that was left unexplored, and a dozen spin-off potentials with characters like Flurry Heart, The Student 6, the CMC, and even Starlight, and so much more! Not to mention other kingdoms like Abyssinia and other non-pony ones. I'm not outright saying g5 is trash and always will be but it's got some pretty HUGE shoes to fill, and frankly I don't think it's doing a stellar job at the moment

Something like Fionna and Cake where it tells the story of the characters who were left unexplored. Having the CMC do more CM problems, having maybe ponies like Trixie and Starlight explore and help other kingdoms, explore more of both EG even, there's so much to do.

I kinda liked the fact that Trixie, out of all of them, immediately got up and looked offended when you booped her snoot. It just seemed so incredibly in character. On that note, don't mind my non-programmer rambling, but I think there should be two types of pony NPCs. Unique and RNG. Specific characters such as the Mane 6, Trixie, and other characters you'd want to populate the town should stay unique among the NPC populous with their own specific AI. The rest should be randomly generated with a more universal interaction AI. I mean, this is so far just testing, and it's very likely you're planning this already, but just really far away from getting around to it, but I thought I'd say it anyway. I love talking game design, honestly.

I guess never considered how much extra GPU and CPU power is required to run the AIs alongside the rendering and game logic. Does performance drop suddenly whenever the AIs are working? What's more intensive, generating the text or the voice clips? What sort of hardware are you running this on and what do you think is required? I'm assuming GPU will be much more important and that VRAM will be strained. Obviously more basic systems are involved too like what's still handling emotions here. I'm not worried about my new rig per say, but I'm sure anything that isn't more than a basic modern gaming rig is out of the question. Sorry for so many questions, I'm just curious.

Voice gen is negligible compared to language model, current one is pretty bad but i can't fit anything bigger on my 3090. Even if one went full autism and got a server gpu the in game performance would suck.

Although the developer has already answered, but since I tinkered with the neurons myself a little, I can say that it is quite possible to optimize power consumption for the language model itself. You can sacrifice a few percent of the quality of the language model itself, and unload VRAM, distributing its power between the CPU and GPU, maintaining relatively low consumption and a non-critical drop in quality. And if you correctly train the model specifically for this project, then 7B as the simplest option will work and will not even consume too much VRAM and CPU resources. The main problem is UE5 (and because I see it is most likely 5), because the engine itself consumes quite a lot of resources for itself and for all other things. All this can be optimized, and I think it will be possible to fit into video cards with 12GB VRAM. The most difficult thing is to balance between the engine, model quality and resource consumption. As I remember, the vocal neuron does not consume very much, and compared to everything else it is insignificant.
