There's no doubt that if you're new to the industry, then you wouldn't have a lot to list under professional experience. However, you would only be applying for positions at specifically junior / entry level. So in that case no potential employer would expect to see a lengthy professional experience. What we would be looking at is your education, both formal education and hopefully signs you are learning skills on your own. We'd want to see evidence of a portfolio, maybe a github account so we can actually view your code. If you don't have any of those then it would be hard to take you seriously as a driven and passionate developer.

Clearly this video is not for everyone as it is more targeted towards people with x amount of experience. I would like to see a resume that doesn’t include professional experience. If I am being honest, when people apply to jobs at big companies, they flat out copy the keywords, even though they don’t have those skills. Then they freeze during the interview. Not recommended.

Can you believe that most "entry level" jobs on LinkedIn require 3+ yrs of experience and jobs seeking candidates with 5+ yrs experience only offers 80k/yr?... Seriously, are those employers here to hire people or to simply make wishes? Has any of them ever wondered where those experienced engineers come from while there is nobody hiring real entry level candidates?

Don't wanna be a party pooper and i appareciate the intent behind the video, but as a seasoned developer who did countless interviews and is well acquainted with the recruitment process at a relatively large company, i can assure you the reason you got the job is not because of your resume but because there a was a quota to fill and you fit the bill and so automatically leapfrog people with better resumes and more experience, sad but true. That's how it works nowadays especially in FAANG companies. And i don't mean this as a knock on you in any way, i'm sure you're very capable on your own right and the quota isn't enough to hire someone who's not good at all, presentation, resume and experience does matter, but the reason you can leapfrog other people competing for the same job is not because of your resume, i wish it was, but it's not.
